On November 21st, the atmosphere was vibrant in the lecture hall on the fourth floor of Mingde Building at Xi’an Peihua University, as the grand “Innovation·Integration·Development” University-Enterprise Integration Pharmacy High-Quality Development Conference commenced. Centered on the theme “Integration-Driven Pharmacy: Breaking Through Development Bottlenecks,” the conference aimed to navigate a new journey toward higher-quality development for the pharmacy program. This will be achieved by deepening industry-education collaboration, focusing on the goal of applying for a master’s degree program, and cultivating industry talent—three key pathways designed to remove obstacles in the connection between the education chain, talent chain, and industrial chain.

Jiang Bo, Chairman of Xi’an Peihua University, delivered a speech. He fondly reviewed the university’s development journey, particularly its path of exploring industry-education integration. He pointed out that the university is currently facing unprecedented opportunities for development—it has already established in-depth cooperation with over 300 enterprises, and the International Academician Science and Technology Innovation Center Xi’an Branch has also settled at Peihua. He emphasized that the late Mr. Jiang Weizhi had clearly stated that running education must adhere to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and cultivate versatile applied talents for China amidst its intensifying aging population. He particularly highlighted the crucial role of university-enterprise cooperation in the development of the pharmacy program, expressing anticipation for deepening collaboration with enterprises to jointly compose a new chapter of development.

He stated that as one of China’s first private universities to embark on a century-long development journey, Peihua has consistently demonstrated vigorous vitality and innovative momentum throughout its development process, successfully overcoming multiple development barriers. The open and win-win model of deep cooperation between the university and enterprises has not only achieved mutual benefit, symbiosis, and collaborative development for both parties but has also constructed a high-quality external environment for the development of pharmacy and medicine programs. The conference also featured special lecture sessions, chaired by Professor Wang Qiaofeng, the academic leader of the pharmacy program. Shan Shenggao, President of the Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Quality Association and Chairman of Chengyu Group, provided an in-depth analysis on “The 15th Five-Year Plan Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and Employment Prospects Analysis for Contemporary Pharmacy Students,” offering valuable industry insights to attendees. Professor Tang Haifeng, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Higher Education Pharmacy Teaching Steering Committee and from the Air Force Medical University, shared the latest scientific research findings on the topic “Research on Saponin Components in Natural Medicines”. Wang Zhen, R&D and Production Vice President of Xi’an Wanlong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., gave a detailed interpretation of “Current Technical Regulations for Drug Registration and Industry-University-Research Cooperation,” providing attendees with practical operational guidelines. Professor Liu Jianli, the discipline leader of pharmacy, delivered a concluding remark. He pointed out that the conference’s special lectures precisely addressed the development needs of the pharmaceutical discipline and talent cultivation objectives. The sharing by the three industry experts and scholars provided multi-dimensional support for discipline construction and talent cultivation from the perspectives of industrial trends, scientific research frontiers, and practical norms.

A university-enterprise cooperation exchange meeting between Xi’an Peihua University and Tsinghua Deren Xi’an Xingfu Pharmaceutical was held concurrently during the conference. Chairman Du Chengqiang and Dean Hu Guodong reached deep consensus on issues including joint talent cultivation, transformation of scientific research achievements, and internship base construction. Both parties established an “all-round integration” upgrade path, proposing to establish a regular communication mechanism and advance key collaborations such as joint curriculum development, cultivation of “dual-qualified” teachers, and joint industry-university-research research projects, aiming to build a model example of university-enterprise cooperation.
