In the midst of the hot summer of June, all things are flourishing. On June 6th, the opening ceremony of the “Life and Growth” graduation design exhibition for the 2026 graduating class of Xi’an Peihua University, along with the dynamic fashion show, officially kicked off at Xidigang Shopping Center in Xi’an.

This exhibition is titled “Life and Growth”. Through design as a medium, it brings together over 100 outstanding graduation works from six major disciplines of the School of Media and Design, presenting the reflections and expressions of the young students’ four-year academic journey. It also showcases how creativity takes root, grows, and blossoms with new possibilities in the soil of the times.

Street Dance Performance ARTIST

With the energetic street dance performance, the opening ceremony officially began. Chen Weijie, General Manager of Xidigang (Xi’an) Shopping Center, Li Yingfang, President of Xi’an Peihua University, Yao Wenjing, Vice President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Bao Wei, Assistant to the President and Dean of the Future Industry College, Zhan Qinchuan, Dean of the School of Media and Design, Xu Ying, Party Secretary of the School, and Shao Lu, Vice Dean of the School, along with relevant responsible persons of Xidigang and other guests from sister universities and industry enterprises, gathered together to witness this grand event that belongs to the young design forces.

In his speech, President Li Yingfang stated that this exhibition is themed “Life and Growth”, showcasing the efforts and growth of the young students over the past four years in delving deeply into their majors and engaging in creative work. He also expressed gratitude to Xidigang Shopping Center for providing an open platform for students to showcase their original designs, allowing them to directly face the society and the public. He encouraged all students to always adhere to upholding tradition while pursuing innovation, and to integrate knowledge with action; to let art take root in life and let creativity serve society; to test professional abilities in real scenarios and achieve the two-way pursuit of personal growth and social value through practice.

At the opening ceremony, a ceremony for awarding the school-enterprise cooperation certificate was also held. Mr. Chen Weijie and Mr. Bao Wei jointly completed the awarding, marking that the two sides will embark on deeper cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, project practice, and commercialization of achievements, jointly building a bridge connecting the campus with the industry, creativity with the market, and empowering the growth of young talents.

Students Liu Ling, Feng Leiyi, Hong Suxu, Ren Xiang, and others presented a song medley titled “Sound Continues,” with a melodious tune telling about growth and dreams, earning rounds of applause.

The dynamic performance of graduation design clothing Intersection on the runway made the atmosphere at the scene reach its peak. The performance covered series of wedding dresses such as Promise to You for a Lifetime, series of sportswear such as Floating Trajectory, the fashionable translation of Nanjing Cloud Brocade Intangible Cultural Heritage by Wen Chen · Yue Dai, and the profound questioning of body memory by Pain Threshold Record—each piece of clothing pulsated with a unique creative pulse, carrying the observations of young designers on life, culture, and the future.

A Diverse Showcase of Works

Entering the exhibition area, a broader world of art unfolds gradually. Through design language, contemporary expressions of regional culture are restructured; from an artistic perspective, the relationship between space, memory, and people is explored; with innovative thinking, the contemporary value of traditional craftsmanship is activated; through digital technology, new boundaries of the integration of art and technology are explored—over a hundred works start from the classroom but do not end there; they stem from individual experiences but respond to the propositions of the times. Each work is a seed of thought; every expression is an echo of life.
