In the peak of summer in June, dreams set sail. On June 14, the 2026 Commencement and Bachelor’s Degree Conferral Ceremony of Xi’an Peihua University was held at the gymnasium of the Chang’an Campus.
Themed “The Answer of Youth,” this ceremony coincided with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Jiang Weizhi. It was both a celebratory farewell to the graduating class and a significant occasion to carry forward the university’s educational philosophy and honor its founding mission. In attendance were university leaders, members of the Bachelor’s Degree Evaluation Committee, representatives of faculty, students, and counselors, as well as alumni, entrepreneurs, and parents.
The ceremony officially kicked off with a heartfelt opening performance titled “Chasing Dreams in Youth,” which combined melody and imagery to revisit the four years of hard work and growth that this graduating class had experienced during their academic journey.
To the solemn strains of music, the university’s national flag guard marched in with heads held high. The five-starred red flag and the university flag were slowly unfurled, as all faculty and students stood in silence, singing the national anthem and the university song in unison. A profound sense of patriotism and the original aspiration of Peihua resonated deeply throughout the venue.
At the ceremony, President Li Yingfang read out the “Decision of Xi’an Peihua University on the Graduation (Completion) of Full-time Regular Higher Education Undergraduate and Diploma Students of the Class of 2026”.
Hu Junsheng, Chairman of the Bachelor’s Degree Evaluation Committee and Vice President of the university, read out the “Decision of Xi’an Peihua University on Conferring Bachelor’s Degrees to Full-time Regular Higher Education Undergraduate Graduates of the Class of 2026.”
At the solemn tassel-turning ceremony, attending leaders turned the tassels for graduating student representatives one by one, symbolically crowning their achievements. After 1,366 days and nights of diligent study, this moment marked the official completion of their academic journey and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
To commend outstanding individuals, set exemplary models, and inspire students to strive for excellence, Executive Vice President Han Wei read out the “Notice of Xi’an Peihua University on Commending the Outstanding Graduates of the Class of 2026.”
Chairman Jiang Bo, together with members of the university leadership, presented awards to representatives of outstanding graduates, graduates contributing to grassroots development, graduates who are retired military personnel, and graduates pursuing postgraduate studies, in recognition of their relentless efforts and outstanding achievements during their time at the university.
At the ceremony, a special awards presentation was also held, during which Chairman Jiang Bo presented the “Xi’an Peihua University Special Contribution Award” to Professor Cui Shengbo from the School of Accounting and Finance.
Bai Yuxuan, a graduate from the Computer Science and Technology major at the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, delivered a speech as a representative of the graduating class. During his time at the university, he won the National Scholarship, participated in national-level innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and received multiple awards in academic competitions. This year, he successfully passed the civil service examination in Jiangsu Province. Drawing on his academic journey, he shared his reflections on personal growth and expressed gratitude to his alma mater for nurturing him. On behalf of all graduates, he pledged to always bear the university motto in mind, live up to the expectations of the times, and take on social responsibilities with youthful vigor to serve the nation.
Bie Beibei, Associate Dean of the School of Medicine, delivered a speech as a faculty representative. In light of the development trends of the artificial intelligence era, she encouraged all graduates to uphold Peihua’s century-old spirit, to be diligent and pragmatic doers, forward-thinking innovators, and warm-hearted, composed individuals in life, staying true to their values while forging core competencies amid the changing times. She emphasized that their alma mater would always be their steadfast support, and extended an invitation to reunite at the university’s centennial celebration in 2028.
This ceremony coincided with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Jiang Weizhi. A commemorative video titled “The Centennial Promise” was played on-site, looking back on the university’s 98-year educational legacy and the founding president’s unwavering dedication to education and nurturing talent for the nation. The university officially announced the upcoming centennial celebration in 2028 and sincerely invited all students to return to campus for a reunion at that time.
Chairman Jiang Bo delivered the final lecture to all graduates, looking back with deep emotion on the university’s centennial journey that began with women’s vocational education, and paying tribute to Mr. Jiang Weizhi’s founding mission of “nurturing talents and revitalizing China.” He emphasized that the core of the university’s education lies in igniting dreams and shaping character, equipping students with the confidence to face life’s challenges head-on. Chairman Jiang also encouraged all graduates to proactively embrace the changes of the era, carry forward the university’s indomitable spirit, hone irreplaceable core competencies, and integrate their personal aspirations into the broader national development. He urged them to remain grounded at the grassroots level, bravely shoulder their responsibilities, and write their own chapters of youth wherever the country needs them most. He concluded by reminding all graduates that their alma mater will forever be their spiritual home, and warmly welcomed them back to celebrate the centennial with honor and pride.
A series of artistic performances took the stage one after another, including the graduation-themed promotional video “Searching for A Yao,” the audio-visual poetic sitcom “Ding Feng Bo · Peihua’s Long Song,” the themed video “The Answer of Youth,” and the a cappella chorus “Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies.” Through diverse artistic forms, these performances showcased the university’s century-old educational heritage and the vibrant spirit of contemporary Peihua youth, eloquently interpreting the themes of youth—struggle, perseverance, passion, and responsibility.
This commencement ceremony was not only a recognition of the academic achievements of the Class of 2026, but also a spiritual inheritance and a heartfelt message of original aspiration. Going forward, all Peihua graduates will carry with them the expectations and blessings of their alma mater, uphold the spirit of the university motto, venture far and wide across the land, live up to their youth, and shine brightly on the vast stage of this new era.
