Recently, the General Office of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and the Department of Education of Shaanxi Province issued the Circular on Commending the Award-winning Projects of Higher Education Teaching Achievement Prize in 2023. The project Diversified Mutual Integration, Value-added Empowerment, and Two-Wheel Drive-Exploration and Practice of Local Applied Colleges and Universities in Promoting the Era of Newcomer Cultivation, led by Associate Professor Yao Wenjing, vice president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Xi’an Peihua University, won the first prize of the 2023 Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award! This is another important honour after winning the First Prize for Teaching Achievements of Shaanxi Province in 2019.

Education Teaching Achievement Award is the highest award in the field of teaching in higher education in Shaanxi Province, which is a review and display of the achievements of talent cultivation and education teaching reform of universities. The award was made under the strong leadership of the council and the party and government departments of the university, and has united the unremitting exploration and struggle of all the teachers in the practice of teaching and learning, which not only marks that the in-depth exploration of the university in the cultivation of applied talents has achieved remarkable results, but also further demonstrates its firm determination and diligent pursuit in cultivating the new generation of the times and promoting the development of high quality.
This award is mainly based on the Jiang Weizhi Class, which is a carrier of class organization of nurturing talents. Relying on the resources of 96 years of red history and focusing on the goal of cultivating newcomers of the times and promoting high-quality development, Jiang Weizhi Class aims at building a three-dimensional innovative education system. Through the form of “Civics + Education Multiple Integration”, “Practice + Qualitative Value-added Empowerment”, “Collective + Individual Dual Wheel Drive”, it has constructed the creative mechanism of “One Centre, Two Transformations, Three Elements, Four Progressions, and Five Sections”, and the five histories and socialist core values are carried through the whole process of cultivating morality and nurturing people, forming a student-centred class and group organization of nurturing carrier with the goal of cultivating newcomers of the times.
Through the creation of Jiang Weizhi Class, the quality education and professional teaching, the first classrooms and the second classrooms, value shaping and skills refining have been deeply integrated, effectively enhancing the cohesion of the class organizations, the vitality of the ideological and political education and the competitiveness of the quality of talent cultivation, so as to push the work of cultivating morality and nurturing people to a deeper level. The creation of Jiang Weizhi Class is embedded in the 100-year historical journey of Peihua, embodying the spiritual pursuit of the university’s cultural lineage, carrying the important mission of establishing morality and nurturing people of the university. It is the condensation and sublimation of the school’s ideological and political education after repeated practice and accumulation.
