The School of Marxism is an independent secondary teaching and scientific research institution directly under the leadership of the university. It mainly undertakes the teaching and scientific research tasks of ideological and political theory courses for all the students, uniformly manages the teachers of ideological and political theory courses, and is responsible for the teaching, scientific research, social service and related management of ideological and political theory courses.

School of Marxism consists of one provincial famous studios, one office and one innovation and development laboratory of ideological and political courses, and five teaching and research sections, including the teaching and research sections of the Basic Principles of Marxism, Modern and Contemporary History of China, Mao Zedong Thought and Introduction to Chinese Characteristic Socialism Theory System, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Fundamentals of Law, Situation and Policy. The school undertakes the teaching and research of courses including Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Fundamentals of Law, Mao Zedong Thought and Introduction to Chinese Characteristic Socialism Theory System, Basic Principles of Marxism, Modern and Contemporary History of China, Situation and Policy.

The School of Marxism possess a team of full-time and part-time teachers with high academic level, reasonable professional title structure, full of vigor and vitality. Among the full-time teachers, there are four professors and nineteen associate professors, forming a teaching and research team with rich experience in ideological and political theory courses, firm political stance, solid basic theories, reasonable professional structure, strong quality and ability, unity, endeavor and dedication. Under the correct leadership of the school Party Committee, the School  has made remarkable achievements in teaching and research. In recent years, the school's teachers have written six monographs. Nearly 200 papers have been published in provincial and ministerial journals, among which 16 papers have been indexed by EI, SCI and CSSCI. 3 provincial Education Department awards have been won. Over 95 projects at all levels have been presided, including 32 provincial and ministerial projects and 31 university-level projects. We have participated in various teaching competitions and 26 teachers won provincial awards and 24 teachers won university awards, and 15 teaching and scientific research achievements in university level and above have been won. Modern and Contemporary History of China, Mao Zedong Thought and Introduction to Chinese Characteristic Socialism Theory System, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Fundamentals of Law have been developed into university-level quality courses. Mao Zedong Thought and Introduction to Chinese Characteristic Socialism Theory System has been included in the provincial quality resource sharing course.

Standing at a new historical starting point, the School of Marxism  will continue to uphold the teaching idea of "people-oriented, good for first", insist to strengthen moral education and cultivate people, vigorously promote the education reform of ideological and political theory and the construction of teacher team and course, then continuously improve the teaching quality of the ideological and political theory course, college students' quality and theoretical knowledge of ideological and political course, and finally, constantly promote the ideological and political theory education and drive the teaching work to a new level.
