Xi’an Peihua University is located in Xi’an, the ancient capital of the birthplace of Chinese civilization. It is the first non-profit, full-time private undergraduate school in the western region of China to have the right to grant bachelor’s degrees approved by the Ministry of Education.

The school has a long history and a deep cultural heritage, which has the tradition and characteristics of female education and vocational education. The predecessor of the school, Xi’an First Civilian Women’s Vocational School, can be traced back to 1928, which was organized by the Shaanxi Women’s Vocational Education Promotion Association and approved by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. In 1984, with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and the State Education Commission on record, the famous educator Mr. Jiang Weizhi, on the basis of the original “Peihua Women’s Vocational School”, resumed Xi'an Peihua Women's University, which became the first one recruiting and training female students in New China. In 2003, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate school approved by the Ministry of Education and was renamed Xi’an Peihua University (enrolling both male and female). In 2007, it became the first private university in western China to be granted the right to grant bachelor’s degrees. In 2013, the school successfully passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching qualification assessment. In 2014, it was approved as a pilot university for transformation and development of Shaanxi Province. In 2017, it was included in the construction plan for new master's degree granting units in Shaanxi Province. And it was approved as the first-class school in 2018. The school passed the undergraduate education and teaching review and evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 2023.The university has successively obtained the titles of "Top 50 Universities for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in China", "Excellent Summer Social Practice Unit in China ", "National Red Cross Model Unit in China", "Advanced Collective in Shaanxi Province", "Demonstration University for CPC Party Building Work in Shaanxi Province", "Advanced Grassroots CPC Party Organization in Shaanxi Province", "Safe Campus in Shaanxi Province", "Civilized Campus in Shaanxi Province", and "Advanced Collective for Employment Work in Shaanxi Province".

The university currently has campuses in Chang'an, Gaoxin, and Zhongnan, as well as a teaching base in Guodu, covering a total area of 1,529,000 square meters. The campus construction is magnificent and uniquely designed, with well-equipped facilities such as administrative building, teaching buildings, experimental centers, student dormitories, gymnasium, library, swimming pool, campus hospitals, academic exchange center, and more.The library holds a collection of 2,784,800 paper books, 1,968,000 electronic books and 23,000 electronic journals. The total storage capacity of digital literature resources reaches 176 terabytes, fully enabling 24-hour electronic borrowing and reading. The campus is equipped with a full-rubber standard stadium, lighted basketball courts, badminton courts, tennis courts, and other sports venues. Additionally, there is a comprehensive hospital, Xi'an Peihua University Hospital, as well as affiliated hospitals including the Fifth People's Hospital of Shaanxi Province, the Fifth People's Hospital of Xi'an, PANACEE International Hospital, Xi'an Tangcheng Hospital, and Haixiang Eye Hospital.

The achievements in discipline and specialty development of school are remarkable. The university is one of the first pilot institutions for transformation and development in Shaanxi Province, and is also a founding member of the Private Universities Sports League of China, the Future Universities Alliance, and the Applied Curriculum Development Alliance.The school has ten secondary schools, including the School of Humanities and International Education, the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, the School of Law, the School of Medicine, the School of Accounting and Finance, the School of Media and Design, the School of Physical Education, the School of Marxism, the School of Further Education and the Women School.The school has 38 undergraduate majors and 13 junior college education majors, forming a multi-disciplinary coordinated development pattern of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Economics, Law, Education, Literature and Art. There are over 23000 undergraduate and junior college students on campus.The school has national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, Shaanxi province-level first-class major construction sites, Shaanxi province-level first-class undergraduate courses, provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, and provincial-level virtual simulation experimental teaching centers.

The faculty is highly qualified. The university boasts a teaching staff with noble ethics, exceptional professionalism, and a reasonable structure. Currently, there are over 1,200 full-time and part-time teachers, with more than 30% holding senior titles and 88.73% holding master's or doctoral degrees. In recent years, teachers have won numerous honors such as the "National Huang Yanpei Outstanding Teacher Award," "Teaching Backbone" in ideological and political courses at universities nationwide, "National Counselor Annual Figure Finalist Award," "Shaanxi Province Teacher Ethics Pioneer (Teacher Ethics Advanced Individual)," "Teaching Pioneer (Teaching Expert)" in the ideological and political course competition in Shaanxi Province, and "Shaanxi Province Teacher Ethics Advanced Individual." A number of excellent teachers and educators have emerged, including recipients of the National Natural Science Foundation and Social Science Foundation, Shaanxi Province Teaching Stars, Shaanxi Province Technical Experts, and Shaanxi Province Employment and Entrepreneurship Advanced Workers.

It has established long-term and stable school-enterprise partnerships with multiple leading enterprises, achieving seamless connections among the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain. The university has produced over 100,000 graduates, nurturing a large number of outstanding talents. The university vigorously promotes the reform of application-oriented courses, actively advancing the construction of courses in cooperation with enterprises according to the requirements of "converting work tasks into courses, integrating teaching tasks into practical work, systematizing the teaching process, and enabling students to learn and practice through real projects to acquire real skills." With 263 on-campus experimental venues and 208 off-campus internship and practice bases, students can engage in authentic learning and practice through real projects to acquire skills. According to third-party research feedback, both employer satisfaction and graduate satisfaction exceed 97%, with graduate employment rates and employer satisfaction rates ranking among the top in similar universities.

The cultural and sports activities on campus are diverse and vibrant. The university consistently organizes themed activities including the "Three Festivals" (Campus Spring Cultural and Arts Festival, University Student Volunteer Service Cultural Festival, and University Student Science and Technology Festival), "Two Months" (Club Culture Month and Learn from Lei Feng Month), and "Two Platforms" (Summer Social Practice Platform and Youth Step-Up School for Training Leaders in Student Organizations).
