Xi’an Peihua University is located in Xi’an, the ancient capital of the birthplace of Chinese civilization. It is the first non-profit, full-time private undergraduateschoolin the western region of China to have the right to grant bachelor’s degrees approved by the Ministry of Education. The school has a long history and a deep cultural heritage, which has the tradition and characteristics of female education and vocational education. The predecessor of the school, Xi’an First Civilian Women’s Vocational School, can be traced back to 1928, which was organized by the Shaanxi Women’s Vocational Education Promotion Association and approved by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. In 1984, with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and the State Education Commission on record, the famous educator Mr. Jiang Weizhi, on the basis of the original “Peihua Women’s Vocational School”, resumed Xi'an Peihua Women's University, which became the first one recruiting and training female students in New China. In 2003, it was upgraded to a general undergraduateschoolapproved by the Ministry of Education and was renamed Xi’an Peihua University (enrolling both male and female). In 2007, it became the first private university in western China to be granted the right to grant bachelor’s degrees. In 2014, it was approved as a pilot university for transformation and development of Shaanxi Province and was approved as the first-classschoolin 2018.

The university has threecampuses, including Gaoxin, Chang’an, and Guodu, with a total area of 1.304 million square meters. The university has 10 secondaryschools, 5 affiliated hospitals, and 58 undergraduate and junior college majors, forming multiple disciplines such asEngineering,Medicine,Management,Economics,Law,Education,Literature,Science, andArt, contributing to a coordinated school-running pattern.

There are more than 23000 full-time students enrolled in the school, of which undergraduates account for 72% of the total number of students. At present, there are more than 1300 teachers, including 537 teachers with senior titles and 974 teachers with master's degree and doctoral qualifications, and "double-qualified" teachers account for 60% of the total number of teachers. At present, there are 1 State Council Outstanding Contribution Expert, 1 National Accounting Leading Talent, 4 Military Education Award Winners, 6 Provincial Advanced Teachers, 2 Young Outstanding Talents inschools and Universities and 6 Provincial Teaching Teams.

The University library has a building area of 26,000 square meters, with a collection of 2.387 million paper books, 1.856 million e-books, 23,000 electronic journals, 13 Chinese and foreign language databases, and a total storage of 176TB of digital literature resources, fully realizing 24-hour electronic borrowing and reading. A 10-gigabit fiber-optic interconnected campus network has been built, and all-rubber sports venues, standard stadiums and gymnasiums have been built. Also,SchoolHospitalofXi'an Peihua University, a first-class comprehensive hospital approved by the health authority has been operated.

The University is one of the top 50 universities for innovation and entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Education, the executive director Unit of the National Applied Curriculum Construction Alliance, the chairman unit of the Future University Alliance, and the pilot institution for the transformation and development of applied technology universities in Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi Province "first-class college" construction unit, Shaanxi Province model innovation and entrepreneurship guidance service organization.

There is 1 national-level first-class undergraduate professional construction site, 85 industry-university integration collaborative education projects of the Ministry of Education, 8 first-class professional construction sites in Shaanxi Province, 5 first-class undergraduate courses in Shaanxi Province, 7 provincial-level experimental teaching centers, successively it has signed in-depth school-enterprise cooperation agreements with more than 150 enterprises and institutions, and has established 195 on-campus training bases and 450 off-campus practice bases. More than 50 teaching and research institutions, including American Heart Association (AHA) Northwest China's No. 1 Emergency Center, Financial Accounting and Financial Audit Practice Collaborative Innovation Center, New Retail Institute, Digital Marketing Innovation Alliance (Shaanxi) Base, Shaanxi Non-heritage Study and Research Base, the Real Business Training Center and the Western Forensic Appraisal Center etc.

The University is the research and communication center of women's education in the new era. The University and the Shaanxi Women's Federation signed a strategic cooperation agreement, relying on "Shaanxi Women/Gender Research and Training Base", "Gender Equality Basic National Policy Propaganda and Training Base", "Shaanxi Province Women and Children's Rights Protection Demonstration Post", "Shaanxi Province Science Popularization Demonstration Base" and other platforms. Women's education is not only a window for foreign exchanges, it also provides a high-level and wide-ranging mainstream platform for the development of women's quality education, which has been fully affirmed by the leaders of provinces and cities.

The University insists on open education and signing agreements on joint training of postgraduates with Northwest University, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Yan'an University and Central South University. It is the station unit of "Northwest University-Xi'an Peihua University Electronic and Communication Engineering Postgraduate Joint Training Demonstration Workstation". The University has initiated the establishment of the "Future University Alliance" with many counterparts in China to promote advantages and share resources together, and to make extensive cooperation in areas such as teaching, scientific research, talent training and serving local social economy. The University has a close dual-support and co-construction relationship with military academies such as the Air Force Military Medical University, and has established friendly University Relations with nearly 100 universities in more than 50 countries and regions, and actively expands the development space.

Peihua’s Party Construction and students' ideological and political work become models. It has been awarded as "a provincial advanced grassroots Party organization" by the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and a "five-star Party organization" by the Organization Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China”.Xi’an PeihuaUniversity conducted a new politics teaching pattern called “first center two integrations and three evaluations”, which integrated the red culture into the ideological and political education platform, and established an ideological and political teaching system for the comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical education, art and labor. In Xi’an Peihua University, one National Model Party branch, one Provincial Model Party branch, one Provincial Department cultivation and creation unit, and one Provincial faculty Model Party branch are awarded.
