From 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 6th, the Chinese Department held a teaching seminar with the theme of "Regional Culture and Cultural Confidence-Basic Perspectives and Methods of Chinese Dialect Studies", aiming to let teachers better understandthe characteristics and perspectives of dialect research, to understand the local cultural characteristics contained in dialects, so as to acquire more research skills and methods in teaching and research.Itwas held on Tencent Conference Platform, and Professor Sun Lixin was invited to give a lecture, and the Chinese Department Chair, Associate Professor Fu Liweipresided over it. All Chinese Department teachers attended the teaching seminar.

Professor Sun Lixin has made great achievements in the study of Chinese dialects, especially Guanzhong dialects. Taking the interesting talk about the characteristics of Guanzhong dialects as the starting point, he introduced four research examples of Chinese dialects from the perspectives of phonetics, lexicology, grammar and culturology.
First of all, Professor Sun gave a brief introduction to the concept and area of Guanzhong dialect. He introduced the phonetic, lexical, grammatical and cultural characteristics of Guanzhong dialect by citing specific and vivid examples, which gave us a more comprehensive understanding of Guanzhong dialect. Understand, Professor Sun said that the Guanzhong regional culture is "deepin water", and the study of Guanzhong dialect is very promising.
Afterwards, Professor Sun made a more detailed and vivid explanation of Chinese dialect research from four aspects: phonetics, lexicology, grammar , combining his own research results and the latest Chinese dialect research viewpoints. Professor Sun summed up the characteristics of consistency between a large number of words and Shaanxi-Gansu dialect words from Ji Chuntai, a novel collection of pseudo-scripts, and the retention of directional verbs in A Dream of Red Mansions in Guanzhong dialect. He examined and studied dialect vocabulary and grammar from literary works, which provided a more novel angle and direction for Chinese teachers in teaching and scientific research.
Professor Sun stressed that dialect research needs to go to the grassroots level for investigation, without which research can't be discussed. At the same time, it is also very important to read literature and obtain historical data from classics. The formation of research ability is inseparable from the four-year study in university. Therefore, in daily teaching, we should keep learning and broaden our horizons, and at the same time, cultivate students' ability in language use and research and the ability to apply theory to practice imperceptibly.
In thediscussion session, teachers Zhou Chujun, Bai Jie, and Huo Xinya, based on their own teaching experience, exchanged and discussed with Professor Sun from the aspects of teachers' linguistic teaching, dialect protection and inheritance, and regional differences in dialect vocabulary.Professor Sun emphasized that teachers of the Chinese Department, especially those who teach linguistics, should always pay attention to the relevant policies of the national language and characters, and keep abreast of the latest developments in the research and protection of Chinese dialects in my country.
Finally,MS.Fu Liwei summed up this teaching seminar. She encouraged the teachers of Chinese Department to take their own dialects as the breakthrough point, master the newer and more cutting-edge research hotspots of Chinese dialects, and at the same time, go out and get first-hand information from field visits, so as to make more explorations and gains in the reform of linguistics teaching.
