Recently, the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League issued The notice on 2022 “Be an anti-drug pioneer and guard the drug-free home” youth law and anti-drug publicity and education special practice activities funded teams. This is the third year in a row that the university has been approved for special grant.
Under the guidance of the Youth League Committee of Xi’an Peihua University, the team has organized outstanding youths to serve as anti-drug volunteers, joined hands with the Shaanxi Provincial CDC, Xi’an Anti-Drug Committee, Chang’an District Skin Prevention Institute, Chang’an District Anti-Drug Office and other units to bring their professional expertise into play. For six consecutive years, the programme has carried out youth care and anti-drug and AIDS-related knowledge dissemination services in schools and nearby primary and secondary schools, in conjunction with the International Anti-Drug Day on June 26th, summer social practice and volunteer cultural festivals. More than 500 households have been visited, more than 20,000 people have been interviewed both inside and outside the Peihua University, and more than 8,000 copies of anti-drug and anti-AIDS publicity brochures have been distributed, with many websites such as Shaanxi Anti-Drug, Zhongqing.com, Sanqin Students, Ankang Legal website and Peihua’s official website carrying publicity reports during the activities. The anti-drug publicity and practice activities were unanimously praised by everyone and had a good social impact, winning awards from the Central Committee of the League and the Provincial Committee of the League for many times.
The award of the first prize is not only a recognition of the previous achievements, but also an encouragement for Peihua University to continue the in-depth youth anti-drug publicity work. Peihua University will take this project as an opportunity to further accelerate the pace of project-based and branding construction of students’ “second classroom” activities, continuously strengthen the nurturing role of youth volunteer work in the ideological and political education and practical training of college students, and promote the whole staff, the whole process and all-round nurturing of students.
In the future, the Anti-drug and Anti-AIDS Preaching Team of Xi’an Peihua University will improve the rules and regulations to ensure the orderly development of anti-drug and anti- AIDS work; take multiple measures to extensively carry out a series of training and activities, improve the quantity and increase the quality, focus on sound system construction, and continuously promote the high-quality development of anti-drug and anti- AIDS work.
