On the afternoon of March 16th, in order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on women and women's work, further publicize the basic national policy of gender equality, and improve the gender equality awareness of teachers and students in colleges and universities, the Women and Children Working Committee Office of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government sponsored, Xi'an Peihua University and other bases co-organized the "Gender Mainstreaming and Implementation of the Basic National Policy of Gender Equality" as the first lecture in colleges and universities, held in Peihua Weizhi library. This lecture is the first report of the "six advances" campaign of publicity and education on the basic national policy of gender equality in Shaanxi Province. Xue Yanmin, executive deputy director of the Office of the Women and Children Working Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, representatives of the basic national policy publicity and training base for gender equality of Xi'an Peihua College, women/gender research base, female college student entrepreneurship and employment training base, representatives and teachers of school libraries, women's federations and other institutions, a total of more than 200 students participated in the lecture.

Xue Yanmin, executive deputy director of the Office of the Provincial Women and Children Working Committee, delivered a speech. She pointed out that our party and the country have always attached great importance to women's work and women's all-round development, and vigorously promoted equality between men and women as a basic national policy. The newly revised "Women's Rights and Interests Protection Law" officially implemented on January 1 this year also clearly stated that "the state incorporates the basic state policy of gender equality into the national education system, conducts publicity and education, enhances the awareness of gender equality in the whole society, and cultivates a social custom of respecting and caring for women."

Since last year, the Provincial Women's Federation has vigorously promoted the publicity and education of the basic national policy of gender equality. Relying on a number of provincial women's federation women/gender theory research and training bases such as the Provincial Party School, the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, and Xi'an Peihua College, a group of political Scholars and professors with politically reliable quality, solid theoretical foundation, rich teaching experience and enthusiasm for the publicity and education of the basic national policy of gender equality have formed the first batch of expert teams of the provincial-level basic national policy publicity group for gender equality, and have arranged to deploy the basic national policy extensively across the province Propaganda and education "five advances" activities. Xi'an Peihua University, as the provincial women's gender research base and the basic national policy publicity and training base for gender equality, also actively participated in various activities of this national policy publicity. The Deputy Dean of the School of the Women Ms. Ban also became the first member of the provincial promotion group.

She hopes that through this special lecture, everyone will understand the core and scientific connotation of the basic national policy of equality between men and women, understand the resolute attitude of the party and the state to implement the basic national policy of equality between men and women,  understand the great achievements made in implementing the basic national policy of equality between men and women over the past few decades, understand the important role of women in the front line of production and construction and in all aspects of economic and social development, understand the important laws, regulations and policy documents in safeguarding women's legitimate rights and interests, encourage everyone to establish a firm belief and confidence in implementing the basic national policy of equality between men and women, and use our actions promoting equality between men and women to be a code of conduct and value standard that the whole society follows, constantly optimizing the environment for women's survival and development, and better supporting and serving the all-round development of women.

Ban Li, a member of the Provincial Basic National Policy for Gender Equality, and Deputy Dean of the School of Women of Xi'an Peihua University, focused on "the connotation of gender equality, the importance of the implementation of the basic national policy of gender equality, and the implementation of women and children's development plans, and important measures of national policy" in three aspects, explaining the basic national policy of gender equality for all teachers and students in simple terms.

In the lecture, the deputy dean of the class Ban Li first used the interactive method of inviting students to come to the stage to draw "men and women with biological sex characteristics", introduced the concept of social gender, and stimulated everyone's thinking about equality between men and women. Through colorful pictures and authentic cases, Ms. Ban revealed the common gender discrimination and inequality in society, explained the importance of gender awareness for teachers and students, and then elicited the social and practical significance of adhering to the basic national policy of equality between men and women.

The students participated in this lecture with high enthusiasm and enthusiastic response. Everyone said that the lecture had a clear theme, a clear context, and a prominent focus. Female attendees generally believed that the country attaches so much importance to the implementation of the basic national policy of gender equality, so they should actively learn more about the legal regulations and policies to protect their own legitimate rights and interests. The male attendees said that to promote gender equality and implement basic national policies, men and women should work together. In the future, they will focus on enhancing social gender awareness and assume more social responsibilities in promoting gender equality.

Xi'an Peihua University Women's College, as a college with a glorious tradition of female education and cultivating outstanding female talents, has always adhered to the "Outline for the Development of Chinese Women (2021-2030)" and "Shaanxi Women's Development Plan (2021-2030)" , becoming an important base and window for implementing the basic national policy of gender equality and cultivating female talents. The report meeting on campus was held in Xi'an Peihua College, which is not only an affirmation of the effectiveness of our school's gender equality teaching, research, and social service work, but also a great spur for future work.

In the next step, the university will unswervingly do a good job as a propagandist, promoter and practitioner of the basic national policy of gender equality, thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and strive to make greater contribution to the promotion of gender equality and women's all-round development in our province.
