On April 22th, Cultural Artists on Campus, themed “Financial Literature at Peihua”, was held in Xi’an Peihua University to mark the 28th World Book Day. The event was organized by the School of Accounting and Finance and the Institute of Financial Culture of Xi’an Peihua University. Wang Xisheng, president of Xi’an Local Finance Association, Shang Ziqin, executive vice president of Shaanxi Poetry Society, and Li Li, director of Advanced Training Center of Xi’an Jiaotong University, were present and delivered speeches.
In his welcome speech, Li Yingfang, president of Xi’an Peihua University, emphasized that Peihua has been the cradle to train financial talents for 95 years, witnessing the development of private higher education and financial business in China. When Peihua was first established in 1928, business studies were already set as disciplines. In 1945, the course of Advanced Accounting was open, and in 1984, the course of Accounting of Industrial Enterprises. In 2004, the accounting major for undergraduate was set up and was authorized in 2007 by the Ministry of Education to issue Bachelor of Management. In 2017, the accounting major succeeded in applying as a construction site of top undergraduate major in Shaanxi and later a national one in 2020. Therefore, a three-level education system for finance major, national - provincial - school level, has been accomplished in Peihua and has trained a large number of high-quality financial talents for our country. Xi’an Peihua University actively implements the fundamental task of moral education and promotes the construction of financial knowledge popularization by educating one student, driving one family, and influencing the whole society. With the launch of “Financial Culture Artists on Campus”, we will actively explore multiple ways to properly combine reading of all students and moral education, and deepen the campus reading culture with unique and vivid content, efficient and convenient media, to constantly enhance academic atmosphere with the reading activities.

They highly affirmed Peihua of its preserving history and financial culture heritage, and agreed that social powers of financial industry would cooperate here at Peihua to popularize financial knowledge, spread financial culture, assist finance teaching, and contribute to the training of financial talents.

After speeches, all the financial writers, painters, and calligraphers, came to stage to donate their works to Peihua. Zhang Yunliang, an elder alumnus of Peihua, and Qin Haifeng, president assistant of Peihua, took over them respectively and also awarded them certificates of collections. Representatives of guests like Zhao Qianjun was honored and certificated “Excellent Writer” of Shaanxi Creation Site of China Financial Writers Association, and Wu Yanjun and Yang Qiujun were honored and certificated “Distinguished Calligrapher and Painter” of Northwest Centre for Exchanges of China Financial Culture.
At the conference, Yang Yuan, secretary of Youth League Committee of Xi’an Peihua University, read out the announcement of contributions titled “I have an appointment with Peihua” to celebrate the 95th anniversary of Xi’an Peihua University. And Zhao Xiaozhou, dean of the Institution of Financial Culture, Xi’an Peihua University, declared the names of consultants newly engaged, and launched the first “Peihua Cup” Financial Culture Festival.
During the Book Day, Peihua would launch 23 series of reading activities in which students read the classics intensively to experience affairs of human life and actively explore multiple ways to properly combine reading of all students and moral education to constantly enhance academic culture with the reading activities.
