On June 18, 2023, the 19th ERP Digital and Intelligent Simulation Competition for Higher Institutions in Shaanxi was held in Xi’an Peihua University. With the simulation of entrepreneurial design and enterprise management, this competition can inspire the initiative of college students in learning, innovation and entrepreneurship, improve their sense of innovation and entrepreneurial ability, and create a good atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship. The competition is organized by China General Chamber of Commerce and SeenTao Technology Co., Ltd. and organized by Xi’an Peihua University this year. More than 200 teachers and students of 41 teams from 23 undergraduate colleges and universities of Shaanxi participated in this competition. And the opening ceremony was hosted by Zhao Xuanmin, president of School of Accounting and Finance of Xi’an Peihua University.
After introducing the history and philosophy of Xi’an Peihua University, Li Yingfang, the president of Peihua University, proposed his standards of cultivating talents for enterprises in the digital era of intelligence, and gave warm suggestions to those teams. He hoped that with this competition, students can fully demonstrate their creative enterprising capability and exceptional management ability in the competition, understand the changes of current enterprises in production and management, and practice the actual business work, so to truly promote learning, teaching and reforming through competition.
Sun Shengru, general manager of the Northwest Region of SeenTao Technology Co., Ltd., appreciated the support of Xi’an Peihua University and promised that SeenTao Technology will expand its layout of the new engineering education, enrich IT education and services, and help colleges and universities to train more and better applied and innovative graduates in the new engineering. He hoped that by practicing in ERP simulation of this competition, students can understand the actual business world better, know how to use the management software, and improve their job skills, practical skills and communication and coordination ability, so to enhance their competitiveness in the workplace.
Professor Li Yonghong, vice president of School of Economics and Management of Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Guo Xiang, a participating student, made speeches and oaths, respectively on behalf of the referee team and participating students, to assure the fairness, impartiality, and openness in the competition.
Zhao Xuanmin, president of School of Accounting and Finance of Xi'an Peihua University, expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students from different colleges and universities for their active participation. Then, he confirmed that this competition indeed promotes the innovative development of higher education and resource sharing, and provides college students with boarder stages to practice and learn. At last, he assured that Xi’an Peihua University will work together with the organizers and participating colleges and universities to provide good services and make this competition wonderful and unforgettable.
Campus Tour
After the opening ceremony, all the team leaders and referees came to Bo’yuan Teaching Building on the campus of Peihua, to visit the digital and intelligent practical teaching exosphere and Red Finance exhibition area of School of Accounting and Finance, where the Cloud Finance Center, Financial Transaction Center, Operation Live center, Intelligent Finance and Taxation Center, Digital and Intelligent Human Resources Center, etc are located. With the introductions of the guide, visitors came to the teaching scenes, where the big data is combined with teaching and practical training in finance, accounting and other majors. They read the audit report written by the students of School of Accounting and Finance with the help of the big data. They watched the practical training model in the Intelligent Finance and Taxation Center, and experienced the use of VR technology in the intelligent finance. The visiting teachers spoke highly of the intelligent teaching, Red Finance exhibition and school-enterprise cooperation in Peihua, and would introduce those new ideas and designs of teaching back to their colleges and universities.
Scene of Competition
In this competition, each participating team worked as a management team to experience the process of systematic operation, set up an overall view, form new perspectives in management, enhance communication, and work out effective means to collaborate. Each team took over a manufacturing enterprise in a simulated market environment with its members playing roles in different posts, and competed with other teams in the same market. The final score and ranking of the competition are based on the interest of the company’s owners, corporate reputation (OID), and its annual financial statements.
Finally, after a 7-hour competition, a technical team from SeenTao and the referee team calculated the scores and made the rankings from the background data. Ding Yang, vice president of School of Accounting and Finance, made a conclusion speech, and the chief referee Li Yonghong announced the results. The team from Xi’an Peihua University won the Outstanding Team Award.
With the joint efforts of all the staff of Peihua, this competition was characterized by clear process, perfect order, and warmth, which showed that all teachers and students did very well in developing different majors in Peihua. Those 41 teams showed their styles, friendliness, and achieved good results all together in this competition, through which students not only applied what they had learned into practice, but also learned the importance of teamwork. In this process, they were willing to learn, improve and achieve perfection.
The successful holding of the competition not only improved teachers’ and students’ understanding of the entire process of enterprise management, but also provided a stage for students from colleges and universities across the province to compete and show their skills.
