Renowned hydraulic engineer and thendirector of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Construction, Li Yizhi, personally designed the architectural plans for the school buildings.

Here, the people of Xi’an Peihua University experienced an unforgettable chapter in their history. In 1938, during the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the faculty and students of the university vacated the entire campus to care for and treat wounded soldiers, laying the foundation for its eventual transformation into a central hospital. The faculty and students of that time embodied the spirit of“serving the nation through education,”making their unique contribution to the war effort as members of Xi’an Peihua University.

In 1952, the school was renamed“Xi’an First School of Finance and Economics”under the leadership of Principal Jiang Weizhi. During this time, a three-story teaching building with a total area of 2,740 square meters was constructed on the Houzaimen campus. This building has stood the test of time for 72 years and remains intact today as the North Building of Xi’an Central Hospital.

In 1955,thefaculty and students of Xi’an Peihua University gathered for a group photo in front of the teaching building on the Houzaimen campus. At that time, Xi’an Peihua University was dedicated to training financial and economic talents for the government and society in the Northwest region, launching a flagship of expertise in finance and economics from this very location.
