In order to further enhance the understanding of all faculty and staff on the current new situation of higher education, deeply consider the strategies for the development of the university, steadily promote the implementation of audit evaluation rectification tasks, and assist the high-quality development of the university, on January 9th, Peihua university invited Professor Han Jiangshui, an expert of Undergraduate Education and Teaching Evaluation, to give a report. The report was held in two sessions: the morning session in the Library Lecture Hall and the afternoon session in the Second Conference Room of the Mingde Building. All school leaders, middle-level officers, faculty representatives of secondary schools and functional departments attended the meeting, which was chaired by Executive Vice President Hu Junsheng.

Professor Han Jiangshui delivered a report titled “Opportunities, Challenges, and Strategic Countermeasures Faced by Application-oriented Universities”
In the morning, Professor Han Jiangshui gave a report titled “Opportunities, Challenges, and Strategic Countermeasures for Application-Oriented Universities.”, focusing on the reform of education and teaching in application-oriented universities. He conducted an in-depth analysis on the implementation of the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the National Education Conference, and serving the development of new quality productive capacities. He highlighted the prominent problems faced by application-oriented undergraduate universities in the new historical period and proposed their solutions. Focusing on program development, he had in-depth discussions with attendees on its connotation, extension, and supporting conditions. Professor Han also discussed the digital literacy of university faculty and the reform and innovation of talent cultivation models in the AI era. He emphasized that in the face of the challenges brought by new changes, application-oriented universities should continuously enhance their strategic leadership capabilities, carefully formulate and effectively implement their development plans, and inject new impetus and vitality into their high-quality and high-level development.

In the afternoon, Professor Han Jiangshui elaborated in his report entitled “Pursuing Excellence through Targeted Rectification- Advancing Audit Evaluation Rectification with High Quality” on the construction connotation and rectification strategies from six major aspects, including fully implementing the Party’s education policy, adhering to the university’s positioning of cultivating application-oriented talents, strengthening the construction of teaching infrastructure, enhancing faculty development, promoting the construction of the academic atmosphere, and upholding quality as the foundation of the university. He pointed out that the core of rectification lies in execution and implementation, aiming to drive development. Universities must firmly establish the “three consciousnesses”, achieve the “three combinations”, properly handle the “four relationships”, maintain the continuity of evaluation and construction work, strengthen supervision and inspection, build long-term mechanisms, ensure the institutionalization and standardization of rectification work, and promote the continuous progress of universities.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Jiang Bo expressed his sincere gratitude to Professor Han Jiangshui for his personal guidance for Peihua’s development. He stated that Professor Han’s two reports have both strategic vision and tactical depth. Based on the development trend of private universities and the actual situation of Peihua, Professor Han had outlined a grand blueprint for the university’s development, and proposed practical and feasible rectification measures to address the shortcomings in Peihua’s undergraduate education and teaching. His insights provided clear guidance for the university’s key priorities during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, laying a solid foundation for Peihua’s centennial achievements. Chairman Jiang Bo stated that all departments should seriously study and fully understand the connotation and essence of Professor Han’s report, fully summarize and reflect on the shortcomings in current work, draw lessons from them, clarify the future plans, establish a long-term improvement mechanism, continue to explore new paths to further advance the university’s high-quality development.
