Study + Internship Program in Japan

1. Program Overview

During the fourth year of undergraduate studies, students will pursue a 6-month study program at partner universities and conduct internships at cooperating enterprises in Japan simultaneously. The study component in Japan mainly includes language training, cultural exchange, and preparation for master's degree studies. Additionally, students will complete their graduation thesis under the guidance of faculty from both Chinese and Japanese universities. Throughout the program, students can intern at hotels affiliated with the cooperating enterprises. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a Academic Transcript and an Internship Certificate.

2. Introduction to Partner Universities

Tokyo Shibaura Foreign Language Institute and Ginza Global Foreign Language Institute are both located in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, at the core of the city’s tourism, education, and business districts. The universities boast a team of highly qualified and competent teachers who not only enhance students’ language proficiency and cultural literacy but also provide tailored graduate school application guidance based on individual needs. Among their offerings, "Shibaura Art" is a specialized program at Tokyo Shibaura Foreign Language Institute, designed for international students aspiring to enter Japanese art universities or graduate schools. It provides comprehensive art education and application support—from theory to practice—delivered by a team of top-tier professional instructors in the Japanese art industry.

3. Introduction to the Internship Company

Founded in 1998, CHI Co., Ltd. is the largest hotel group owned by Chinese entrepreneurs in Japan, with over 500 employees and fixed assets exceeding 100 billion yen. Its president, Tsuyoshi Tsuzaki, is one of the most representative and influential Chinese entrepreneurs in Japan. The group operates more than a dozen medium-to-large resort hotels and golf courses across Japan, complemented by experienced travel agency teams, bus operation services, tour guide teams, and one-stop overseas banquet and wedding resources. It collaborates with global travel agencies and local ground service providers to undertake a full range of Japan-bound travel and related businesses.

4. Fee Structure

(1) Pay the regular fourth-year tuition fee to Xi’an Peihua University as scheduled;

(2) Program fees (6 months):a. Application Fee: 30,000 yen (payable before submitting documents to Japan’s Immigration Bureau; non-refundable once paid);b. Admission Fee: 80,000 yen (payable after the "Certificate of Eligibility" is approved; non-refundable in principle);c. Tuition Fee: 355,000 yen for six months;d. Accommodation Fee: Starting from 40,000 yen per person per month (Rental Deposit: Starting from one month’s rent; university dormitories in Japan offer 2-person or 3-person rooms, equipped with essential daily necessities and furniture);

(3) Living expenses, transportation fees, travel expenses, and insurance premiums are borne by the student;

(4) Japanese National Health Insurance: 1,000 yen per month;

(5) Overseas Accident and Personal Injury Insurance: Optional.

5. Study + Internship Period

6 months: April to September of the second semester of the fourth year.

6. Curriculum and Credit Recognition

The courses offered in Japan are aligned with the curriculum of the Japanese Language major at Xi’an Peihua University. Students must attend all courses, participate in assessments as required, and achieve passing grades to earn corresponding credits. During the stay in Japan, students will complete their graduation thesis writing and defense. Xi’an Peihua University recognizes and converts all credits, academic performance, and internship evaluations obtained by students during the program.

7. Internship Positions and Remuneration

Internship positions are available at hotels affiliated with CHI Co., Ltd., including Hotel Front Desk Service, Housekeeping Service, Food and Beverage Service, and Tour Guide Service. The hourly wage is 1,000 yen or higher, with a maximum of 28 working hours per week (40 hours per week during summer and winter vacations). Specific positions and remuneration will be determined based on individual plans and application results.

8. Application Requirements

(1) Target Applicants: Fourth-year undergraduate students;

(2) Have completed all public courses and specialized courses required for the first to third years of the academic program and obtained corresponding credits;

(3) Possess a solid professional theoretical foundation and strong practical abilities;

(4) Hold correct worldviews, outlooks on life, and values;

(5) Be in good physical and mental health, with strong communication skills, and capable of successfully completing the overseas study and internship tasks (applicants with infectious diseases are ineligible).

9. Required Documents

(1) University Application Form;

(2) Current Student Certificate;

(3) Academic Transcript;

(4) Scanned copy of the passport’s biographical page;

(5) 2-inch passport photos.

10. Application Process

(1) Fill out the internal application form of Xi’an Peihua University (including the Internship Employment Agreement);

(2) After passing the eligibility review, participate in assessment and interview selections;

(3) Receive the Admission Notice;

(4) Submit electronic application documents for the program, including:a. Completed Japanese University Application Form;b. Scanned copies of academic certificates and transcripts;c. Scanned copy of the passport’s biographical page;d. 2-inch passport photos with a white background (electronic version);

(5) Sign the Japan Program Agreement (including the Internship Employment Agreement);

(6) Pay the program application fee: 30,000 yen;

(7) Apply for the Certificate of Eligibility;

(8) Pay Japanese university fees: After receiving the Certificate of Eligibility (for student visa) and verifying the information is correct, pay the initial Admission Fee (80,000 yen) and six-month Tuition Fee (355,000 yen);

(9) Apply for the student visa;

(10) Participate in pre-departure training and prepare for overseas travel.
