
Thai Mandarin Teacher Internship + Employment Program
As Thailand's premier academic institution, Chulalongkorn University has always been at the forefront of language education and cultural dialogue. In response to the growing demand for cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Thailand under the Belt and Road Initiative, our university officially launches the only authorized Mandarin Teacher Internship + Employment Program. This program leverages academic authority to empower language talent development, aiming to cultivate international Chinese language education elites with both professional depth and cultural sensitivity.
I. Introduction to Partner Schools:
The schools are located in Bangkok and Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. Nonthaburi is approximately a 30-minute drive from downtown Bangkok, offering convenient transportation, easy living conditions, abundant fruits, beautiful scenery, and a pleasant climate.
School Type:Public Schools
Positions Open: Several Chinese Language Teachers
Work Locations:Nonthaburi Province, Bangkok
Teaching Levels:Kindergarten, Primary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School
Start Date:Early May or Early October. Internship duration is four months; employment duration is one year.
II. Internship Position:
Education: Current undergraduate students, junior year or above.
Major:TCSOL (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages), Education, Thai Language, English, or related majors preferred. For non-related majors, a teaching qualification certificate is required.
Language:Daily conversational proficiency. Priority given to those who speak Thai. Fluent Mandarin required.
Internship Duration in Thailand: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Approximately 15-20 teaching hours per week. Weekends off.
Benefits: Monthly stipend: 10,000 Thai Baht (includes accommodation).
III. Employment Position:
Education:Bachelor's degree required.
Major:Any major accepted, but must possess teaching ability. TCSOL, Education, Thai Language, English, or related majors preferred. For non-related majors, a teaching qualification certificate is required.
Language:Daily conversational proficiency. Priority given to those who speak Thai. Fluent Mandarin required.
Age:21 years or older. Open to all genders.
Work Schedule in Thailand: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Approximately 15-20 teaching hours per week. Weekends off.
Benefits:Monthly salary: 30,000 Thai Baht. Summer and winter holidays system with living allowance provided (accommodation not included).
Contract Term: One-year contract, renewable.
Holiday Arrangements:
Summer break: Mid-March to mid-May, or early March to early May.
Winter break: One month in October, but schools typically close for about half a month.
(Note: Schools may schedule make-up classes or holiday camps during breaks; salary during these months may be calculated on a per-day basis for work performed.)
All Thai statutory holidays are observed (approximately 23 days per year).
IV. Detailed Program Process
1. Program Application:
After understanding the program details, complete the on-campus registration procedures by filling out and submitting the program application form for initial resume screening.
2. Interview Stage:
Initial Interview:Upon passing the screening, sign the formal employment agreement and pay an interview fee of 2,500 RMB.
First-round Interview:Within approximately 7 working days after fee payment, a Chinese program manager will conduct an initial online interview.
Position Placement Fee: If the first-round interview is passed, a program placement fee of 15,500 RMB (for employment) or 7,000 RMB (for internship) must be paid.
Note:If the interview is not passed, the full interview fee will be refunded within three working days!
3. Position Assignment Interview:
After passing the first-round interview, an online interview will be conducted by the Chulalongkorn University project team to assign positions. This interview primarily assesses suitability for placement in affiliated public schools (primary, secondary, kindergarten).
4. Work Visa Processing for Employment Candidates:
After position assignment, the program organizer will assist with the procedures for obtaining the work visa required for entry and employment in Thailand.
Pre-departure orientation will also be arranged to explain work and life in Thailand, ensuring thorough preparation before starting the position.
5. Airport Pickup & Accommodation:
Upon arrival at Bangkok airport, a responsible teacher from the program's China office in Bangkok will arrange the first-time airport pickup and accommodation service, facilitating a smooth entry and transition to the post.
6. Pre-employment Training:
Before officially starting at the school, participants are required to attend a two-week pre-service training at Chulalongkorn University.
Training Content:
1. Instruction and practical application of teaching methodologies for Mandarin teachers in Thailand.
2. Learning about Thai local culture and customs.
3. Seminar and exchange on teaching materials for Chinese language instructors.
7. School Onboarding:
After completing the training, participants will proceed to their assigned school to complete onboarding formalities and commence their official duties!
