In order to cherish the memory of Mr. Jiang Weizhi’s brilliant performance and personality, and to inherit the spirit of Peihua, on the afternoon of October 14, the school held a memorial service to commemorate the 95th anniversary of Mr. Jiang Weizhi’s birth in Weizhi Library on the Chang’an campus.
Alumni of 1955, former Chief Prosecutor of Xi’an People’s Procuratorate, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the 12th Xi’an Municipal People’s Congress, Honorary President of Peihua Shaanxi Alumni Association Wei Yubo, alumni of 1955, former Deputy Director of Xi’an City Appearance Management Committee, Honorary President of Peihua Shaanxi Alumni Association Wang Jianpeng, alumni of 1954, former Production Director of Weitong Group Cai Peihua, former Director of the Party Office and President Office of Peihua Women’s University, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, former President of Peihua Vocational School Lei Fuyun, alumni of 1993, Director of Visual Communication Department of Xi'an Polytechnic University Shao Lu, former Vice President of Xi’an Peihua University Yang Dingjun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Deputy Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of Zhi Gong Party, Chairman, Board of Directors of Xi’an Peihua University Jiang Bo, Supervisor of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Governor Luo Xinyuan, Vice President Liu Yuelian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President Yao Wenjing, Vice President Yu Guoliang, Peihua old faculty member Zhang Yunliang, President Assistant Qin Haifeng, and nearly 400 teachers and students attended the memorial service. The meeting was presided over by Li Yingfang, President of Xi'an Peihua University.
On behalf of the council, Jiang Bo, Chairman, Board of Directors of Xi’an Peihua University, expressed sincere respect and gratitude to the old alumni, old students and old colleagues who have trusted and followed Mr. Jiang Weizhi for many years. He said that as the epitome of the development of private education, women’s education and vocational education in China, Peihua shoulders a strong sense of social responsibility and historical mission. It is the persistent pursuit and selfless dedication of generations of Peihua people that created today’s Peihua. The name of Peihua striver will go down in history forever.
As the first batch of school-recruited teachers of Peihua Women’s University, Professor Zhang Yunliang comprehensively reviewed all the processes of working in the old Peihua in his speech. He praised the old president Jiang Weizhi as “the first guide to society and work.” In his eyes, Mr. Jiang is a pioneering, innovative and tireless old man, an entrepreneur with firm faith and self-improvement, and he deeply expressed his gratitude to the old president and the old Peihua.
Lei Fuyun, former Director of the Party Office and President Office of Peihua Women’s University, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, former President of Peihua Vocational School, and the right arm of the old president Jiang Weizhi for 30 years, reviewed the difficult school running history of Peihua Women’s University and recalled the old president’s excellent school running spirit and personal charm of bearing hardship, pioneering hard, never giving up and struggling bravely. She noted that the old headmaster was deeply loved by students and teachers for he strictly ran schools during the period of duty, strengthened Peihua’s leadership team and teacher team, and brought into full play the spirit of hard work and man-made efforts. She deeply cherished the memory of the old president and said that his spirit infected and influenced every generation.
Yang Dingjun, the former Vice President, cherished the old president’s character of probity and hard work, and said that President Jiang Weizhi is a pioneer who dares to innovate, a person with lofty ideals who knows how to be grateful, an educator with avant-garde ideas and advanced school running ideas, and a leader who practices the school running idea of “people-oriented, moral first.” His students are all over the world and still live in our hearts.
Wei Yubo, former Chief Prosecutor of Xi’an People’s Procuratorate, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the 12th Xi’an Municipal People’s Congress, alumni of 1955, said that with his dedication, earnestness, and perseverance, President Jiang has always been Peihua’s backbone and person in charge. Mr. Jiang Weizhi, as a leading figure in private education, had been working hard and innovatively until the age of 80, with a willpower different from ordinary people to develop the cause of Peihua and the private education. He devoted his whole life to education.
Cai Peihua, former Production Director of Weitong Group, alumni of 1954, remembered the old president Jiang Weizhi with her affectionate experience of changing her name, saying that Jiang Weizhi’s concern for students and love for students have become her eternal feelings for the school.
Shao Lu, a 1993 alumnus and Director of Visual Communication Department of Xi'an Polytechnic University, told the story with the old president and old Peihua with two photos. She said that her growth was inseparable from the care of the old president and Peihua. She encouraged Peihua’s successors and young students to draw on power from the old president’s enterprising spirit of hard work.
Bao Wei, the staff representative and Director of the Enrollment and Employment Guidance Center, deeply recalled his life of studying and working in the University for 19 years. He introduced Peihua’s development and progress one by one with great familiarity. He also introduced the old president in his eyes from the aspects of hard work and loving life to encourage Peihua people in the new era to take root in the fertile soil of Peihua and grow vigorously in the face of the sun
Li Yu, the class representative of Jiang Weizhi Class and the former monitor of class 1701, Human Resource Management major, College of Accounting and Finance, is the successor of Jiang Weizhi Spirit in the new era. In his speech, he reviewed the touching deeds of leading the class to create Jiang Weizhi Class, believing that “Jiang Weizhi Spirit is the concentrated embodiment of the implementation of Core Values of Socialism in Peihua and the classic refinement of Peihua that takes root in the system of Core Values of Socialism and traditional Chinese culture.” He said that during the four-year study, he and his classmates were deeply inspired by Jiang Weizhi Spirit and got impressive achievements one after another under the influence of this great spirit. He hoped that in his future study and work, he would drive more young people to grow into talents with his Peihua gene.
Luo Xinyuan, Secretary of the Party committee of Xi’an Peihua University, pointed out in his speech that in the upsurge of in-depth study and education of party history in the country, in the important historical intersection period of The Two Centennial Goals, and in the University’s journey towards building a high-level private university, we learn and inherit Jiang Weizhi Spirit, which is a vivid embodiment of Peihua people telling Peihua stories and strengthening the cause of Peihua, and is to provide a steady stream of spiritual power and cultural nourishment for the construction of a high-level private university. It is hoped that all teachers and students will closely focus on the fundamental task of moral education, deeply explore Jiang Weizhi Spirit and its cultural connotation, continuously enhance the cohesion, centripetal force and combat effectiveness of Peihua people and strive to improve the vitality, appeal and attraction of education in combination with the actual work of our university, so as to contribute to the comprehensive training of qualified socialist builders and reliable successors who love the party, love the country, love and honor the school, and develop themselves morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically and laboriously.
Li Yingfang, President of Xi’an Peihua University, pointed out in his concluding speech that the purpose of holding the commemoration meeting for the 95th anniversary of the old president Jiang Weizhi’s birth is to learn and inherit Mr. Jiang Weizhi’s spirit of loving education all his life, being loyal to the party’s education, not being discouraged in the face of difficulties, not losing in the face of competition, not being proud of achievements, keeping selfless dedication and persistent pursuit. We should learn from his noble feelings, noble qualities, entrepreneurial spirit and powerful personality. It is hoped that all cadres and teachers will remain true to our original aspiration, keep our mission firmly in mind, follow the cause of Peihua initiated by the old president, work towards the direction of his struggle, carry forward the past and forge ahead into the future, at the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan accelerate the construction and development of the university, improve the school running level and comprehensive power, run a high-level private higher education to the satisfaction of the people, create the “100-Year Peihua” and realize the old president’s dream.
