In the 22nd “Chang'an Cup·Chinese University Students Japanese Proficiency Demonstration Contest” held on October 30th, Yang Xinhai, a Japanese major from the School of Humanities and International Education, won the first prize in Group B for his outstanding performance. Xi'an Peihua University Won the "Best School Award", and the Japanese teacher Ozawa Kazuhiro won the "Excellent Instructor".

The Chang'an Cup·Chinese University Students’ Japanese Proficiency Demonstration Contest is co-sponsored by the China-Japan Humanities Exchange University Alliance, the Chinese Japanese Language Teaching Research Association, Xi’an International Studies University, and the Japanese NPO Association for Environmental Research and Education International Exchange. Professors from Doshisha University, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and other universities served as judges. Due to the impact of the epidemic, this conference was conducted online. The main venue in Xi'an played the video works of the contestants, and the judges in the Tokyo branch watched them in real time and delivered their reviews on site.

The Tokyo Venue
This year’s Chang’an Cup·Chinese College Students’ Japanese Language Proficiency Demonstration Contest Finals was attended by 21 contestants from 19 colleges and universities inside and outside the province. They were divided into Group A and Group B. The order of the contestants’ video playback was decided by the jury office in the morning of the day. Group A is titled “Japan's Aging Problem and the Happiness of the Elderly”, and Group B is titled “Chinese Measures to Deal with Birth Rate Decline”.

Yang Xinhai, a student from our school, focused on Chinese marriage customs and proposed the need to "reform the nationwide awareness of marriage", and elaborated his proposal to solve the problem of declining birthrates in our country. Yang Xinhai's presentation was novel, concise and clear, and unanimously approved by the judges. He finally won the championship of Group B and accessed the opportunity to go to Japan for exchanges.

On the field day, the Japanese faculty also organized students to watch the live broadcast of the competition at school.
This competition fully demonstrated the Japanese proficiency of Peihua students, the thinking ability and demeanor of Japanese majors, which to care about the development of the times and solve problems.
