In order to celebrate the 94th birthday of Xi’an Peihua University, School of Marxism launched a series of activities themed “Integrating History of the University into Lessons”. In theBasic Principles of Marxismcourse, the university history was integrated into the philosophy lectures to help students understand the motto and the spirit of Peihua, learn the twists and turns in the history of the university’s founding and the development of theuniversity, and to enhance their comprehensive and dialectical thinking ability.
Combining the history of the university, Ms. Chen Huan taught the principle of universality and particularity of contradiction, so that students could understand the dialectical relationship between universality and particularity of contradiction, which is the philosophical basis of the combination of the basic Marxism principles and the practicality of running and governing private colleges and universities. Peihua insists on combining the basic principles of Marxism with the actualsituation of the university and the private education in Shaanxi. By doing so, Peihua keeps making new achievements in promoting private education.
Ms. Zhu Juanli integratedthe law of negation into the introduction of the history. By introducing the development history of Peihua, she made students understand the law of negation and the principle of unity between the advancement and the twists and turns, and inspired them to carry forward the good traditions of the university, insist on keeping up with the times, look at things from a development perspective, overcome difficulties and meet challenges.
In the form of online discussion, Ms. Huang Rong integrated Peihua’s history into teaching of the rule of quantitative change and qualitative change. By telling students the four stages of Peihua’s development and the setbacks and difficulties faced in the process of running the university, she helped students better understand the rule of mutual change of quality and quantity and enhanced their love and honor for the university.
Ms. Di Haiying integrated the university’s history into the teaching of universal human interaction and the formation and development of world history, so that students could understand the principle of universal human interaction and understand that the history of Peihua’s development since its foundation is a history of interaction with the outside world, and through interaction with the outside world, Peihua has developed and grown step by step.
Ms. Shen Yuna taught the law of negation with the knowledge of the history through an online discussion. She led the students to sort out the history and let them understand the hardships of running history of the university, and understand that the development of Peihua is a process of continuous self-development and self-improvement, which is progressing like waves and upgrading like spiral, and is a unity of twists and turns and advancement. In the future, every student should carry forward the spirit of hard work and hardship of Peihua personnel.
With the theme of Carve Out with Poor Condition & Remain true to the original aspiration — A Look Back at the History of Mr. Jiang Weizhi’s Journey, Ms. Hu Zheqing gave the lesson with three chapters includingDevoted to Education and Displaced: A Career Stopped for 25 Years,Never Give Up, Never Forget: The Rebirth of Peihua,Nurturing Education with Production, Combining Production and Education: Shaping Peihua Model, and combined the content of initiative of consciousness with the teaching of the university’s history to let students deeply feel the spirit of Jiang Weizhi, which displays Peihua’s philosophy of people-oriented and moral-first and made the philosophy be a part of the university’s history.The activity of Integrating History of the University into Lessons allows students to better understand the history of Peihua, the spirit of Peihua and the motto while learning the principle knowledge, stimulates the awareness of loving and honoring the university, and inspires students to go forward with the courage and strength as members of Xi’an Peihua University.
