On November 3^rd, the donation ceremony of personal painting and calligraphy by Zhang Yi, President of Chinese Painting Institute of Shaanxi Province and National first class artist, was held in Weizhi Library. Hu Shiying, the son of Hu Qiaomu, Executive Chairman of the International Green Industry Cooperation and Honorary President of Peihua University, Jiang Bo, Chairman of the Board of PeiHua, Wu Xiaoyan, Director of the Library and some representatives of teachers and students attended the donation ceremony.

The Chairman said that President Zhang Yi, as an old friend of Peihua University, had donated 23 works of his “Poetic Paintings of Tang Dynasty” and the books he had written to Peihua. This is a great contribution to the promotion of the inheritance of excellent Chinese traditional culture, the enhancement of the library’s humanistic heritage, and to the school’s aesthetic education, and the library will permanently collect and display them for students to visit and study.

At the donation ceremony, President Zhang Yi said that he was deeply influenced by the former Chairman Jiang Weizhi, who devoted himself to running Peihua and his selfless spirit. Under the leadership of Chairman Jiang Bo, the university has continued to grow and made brilliant achievements. He said that he accepted the Chairman’s invitation to become a professor in the School of Architecture and Art and Design. He would devote himself to artistic creation and study, and make contributions to the teaching and education of the school.

Mr. Hu Shiying, the honorary president, quoted “the Yangtze River pushes the waves forward” and said that he would continue to contribute to the development of Peihua. He said that as a university with a history of one hundred years, Peihua has a profound cultural heritage. Presicent Zhang Yi’s donation of his calligraphy and painting works to Peihua will enable it to play a greater role in educating students.

According to the library staff, President Zhang Yi’s work “Tang Dynasty Poetic Paintings” is already on display in the library, the 1^st floor. And the books given will soon be in the library room for students to borrow and study.
