A few days ago, the list of winners of the Shaanxi Division of the 2022 National College Students Mathematical Contest in Modeling was announced. A total of 3,756 teams from 79 colleges and universities in the Shaanxi Division participated. Eighteen teams from Xi'an Peihua University won awards in this competition, including two national awards, sixteen provincial awards, five provincial first prizes, and eleven provincial second prizes. Teacher Lu Chenhong guided students Wu Yukun, Jiao Hao and Cui Kangkang’s entries to the national first prize, and Chen Wenli’s guidance to students Wu Yongyong, Wang Keli and Liu Ruhai’s entries were awarded the national second prize. The university won the Excellent Organizational Work in Shaanxi Division Award, and won the national first prize in the competition for two consecutive years.

The National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling is a national event co-sponsored by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and the China Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, one of the high-level subject competitions. The School of Intelligent Science and Information Engineering attaches great importance to the development of subject competitions and has gradually formed a characteristic model of "promoting learning through competitions" to drive the cultivation of applied talents, focusing on cultivating high-quality applied talents who can fully adapt to the society. At the same time, the achievement of mathematical modeling in our school also benefited from the solidarity and cooperation between the various functional departments of the school and the second-level colleges. Dean Cheng Guojian and the executive vice-president led the leadership team members of the college to visit the training site many times to guide the competition work. During the competition, Hu Junsheng, the school's executive vice president, Tie Wei, director of the Educational Affairs Management Center, and Liu Bin, director of the Experimental Training Center, also came to the competition site to inspect and guide the competition organization work, caring and expressing condolences to the teachers and students of the competition.
