On November 11th , the inaugural meeting of Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University and the first Women’s Congress were held in the report hall on the fourth floor of Mingde Building. Jiang Bo, Chairman, Board of Directors of Xi’an Peihua University, Luo Xinyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Yuelian, Vice President, Yao Wenjing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and 91 female faculty and students attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xu Guofu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
Chairman, Board of Directors Jiang Bo delivered a speech. He first congratulated the establishment of the Women’s Federation on behalf of the university’s Board of Directors, extended greetings to all the representatives, and thanked all the female teachers and students for their long-term efforts in the cause of women and children. He stressed that Jiang Weizhi, the old president, attached great importance to women’s education. The establishment of Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University has great and far-reaching significance for encouraging the female teachers and students in the school to actively participate in women’s work and writing a new historical chapter in the development of women’s cause in Shaanxi Province. It is hoped that Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University and Labor Union will work together to function as bridges and links, shoulder the burden bravely, and play a good role in promoting the high-quality development of the university in an all-round way and moving towards the centennial dream of Peihua.
Yao Wenjing, leader of the preparatory leading group of Women’s Federation, made a report on the preparatory work of Women’s Federation on behalf of the university. The meeting had adopted the election method of the first Women’s Congress of the university and the list of vote monitors, and members of the First Executive Committee were elected by ballot.
All representatives voted in turn to elect the First Executive Committee of Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University.
Xu Guofu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Labor Union, read out the list of members of the First Executive Committee of Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University. Yao Wenjing, Chen Ling, Ban Li, Wang Peng, Zhao Jie, Huo Yuanmin, Yang Yuan, Sun Kehan, Dang Huimin, Zhang Jinjin, Wang Jiangru, Cui Fei and Yang Jing were elected as members of the First Executive Committee of Women’s Federation.
Luo Xinyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, pointed out in his summing up speech that the establishment of Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University was a great event and a happy event in the political life of women in the university. He hoped that the First Executive Committee would step into the role as soon as possible, clarify its responsibilities, effectively improve its ability and level of performance, and actively adapt to the development needs of women’s work in the new era. Through continuous innovation of work carriers, Women’s Federation will truly become a women’s organization “trusted by leaders, supported by women and recognized by the masses”.
At the first plenary meeting of the First Executive Committee of the university’s Women’s Federation held later, Yao Wenjing was elected as the chairman of Women’s Federation, and Chen Ling and Ban Li were elected as vice chairmen.
On November 14th , Wang Yu’e, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of Shaanxi Women’s Federation, signed the second round of Five-year Strategic Cooperation Agreement with our university on behalf of Shaanxi Women’s Federation and unveiled the newly established Women’s Federation of Xi’an Peihua University.
Chairman Wang Yu’e fully affirmed the remarkable achievements of the strategic cooperation with Xi’an Peihua University, and put forward suggestions on further strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanges. She pointed out that the two sides will continue to deepen the content of cooperation, give full play to the unique advantages of Shaanxi women’s education in serving the growth of female talents, and strive to create a “the Belt and Road” women’s educational brand in western China and a model for gender-equal education in universities, thus making new brilliance in work. The two sides also need to further play the role of Peihua’s “four bases”, carry forward the excellent tradition, adhere to pioneering and innovation, strengthen the construction of bases, create new working highlights, strengthen women’s education and training, and provide intellectual support for the development of women’s cause with the implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. Still, the two sides have to further strengthen organizational construction, expand new practices, effectively play the role of Women’s Federation of the university as a bridge and link to guide the female teachers and students to listen to the Party, be grateful for the Party, follow the Party, and actively participate in high-quality development in Shaanxi.
Xi’an Peihua University, as a provincial university that took the lead in establishing Women’s Federation in the province, will, under the guidance and support of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation, create a new situation for the organization of Women’s Federations in universities in the new era, lead women in universities to give play to their unique talent and intellectual advantages, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of female faculty and students, create better conditions for the growth, talent development and employment of female students, and become the trustworthy, reliable, and indispensable supporter for the female in universities.
