On August 28th, the 9thWorld Traditional Wushu Championships, hosted by International Wushu Federation and China Wushu Association, and organized by Sichuan Sports Bureau, Sichuan Wushu Association and Leshan Municipal People’s Government, came to an end. Jin Ma, Ding Jingyang, and Hui Bowen, teachers of School of Physical Education of Xi’an Peihua University, proactively set up a wushu team and compete with more than 7,000 athletes from 53 countries and regions.
After the summer training and with coaches helping their competing strategy, teachers and students of Peihua have achieved good results. Teacher Ding Jingyang won the champion in men’s Gunshu, and the second place in men’s Quanshu. Student Wu Yushan won the second place in Long Weapon of 47kg women, and third place in Short Weapon of 47kg women.Student Mo Fan won the third place in Long Weapon of 51kg women, and third place in Short Weapon of 51kg women.Student Zhu Zengdong won the third place in Long Weapon of 67kg men. Student Yan Tao won the third place in Long Weapon of 54kg men.
The fighting spirit of Peihua students in the competition was highly praised by the organizing committee. Tian Suhui, honorary vice-president of International Wushu Federation, vice-president of Asian Wushu Federation, and leader of China National Teach of Wushu and Sanshou, came to watch the competition and congratulated teacher Ding Jingyang for winning the award.

Luc Bendza, deputy director of IWUF Traditional Wushu Committee,and students of Peihua Luc Bendza, deputy director of IWUF Traditional Wushu Committee, founder of Gabonaise Wushu Association, a wushu referee of international level, and a wushu actor, gave encouragement and praises to Peihua students and hoped that they would continue to work hard and make greater achievements.
