Recently, the project hosted by associate professor Liu Yi of School of Medicine received funding from the Qinchuangyuan Spring Seed Fund, and on August 29th, the “Spring Seed Fund” project investment agreement was officially signed with the Qinchuangyuan Spring Seed Fund Investment and Operation Office. This project is the first technology achievements transformation project invested by Qinchuangyuan “Spring Seed Fund” in our university.

Qinchuangyuan “Spring Seed Fund” is a special fund jointly funded and established by Shaanxi Province, Xi’an City, and Xixian New Area, aiming to support the scientific and technological achievements transformation projects of university teachers and students in Shaanxi Province. The research team led by associate professor Liu Yi is mainly engaged in the research in the field of bio-safety defense equipment. The technology transformation achievements of this funded project include bio-safety aerosol sterilization devices, ultra dry mist hydrogen peroxide disinfection machines, bio-safety transfer chambers, and other defense equipment. The main application fields are top universities and research institutes, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and bio-safety laboratories in China. Based on the technological achievements of this project, associate professor Liu Yi founded a new technology company - Xi’an Taiwei Biotechnology Equipment Co., Ltd., with the “Spring Seed Fund” contributing 1 million yuan, accounting for 10% of the shares.

At present, Taiwei Biotechnology has achieved excellent results and has been recognized as the second batch of high-tech enterprises in Shaanxi Province in 2023. The university will further explore technological achievements with transformation potentials, vigorously promote the integration of innovation and industrial chains, and assist in the high-quality development of regional economy.
