To further unearth the outstanding traditional Chinese culture, implement the fundamental task of nurturing virtues and shaping well-rounded individuals, and enhance the cultural development on our campus, allowing our numerous faculty and students to gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual essence of Chinese traditional culture, an inauguration ceremony for the “Shaanxi Province Traditional Culture Heritage Center” was jointly organized by our university and the Shaanxi Provincial Traditional Culture Development Promotion Association. This event took place on the afternoon of July 7th in the auditorium of the Xi’an Peihua University library. This gathering, totaling approximately four hundred faculty and students, marked a significant occasion for our university.

The Event Venue

This event was divided into two stages. In the first stage, Professor Xiao Yunru, a renowned cultural scholar, delivered an academic lecture titled “Silk Road Chronicles: The Rainbow of Our Planet.” He recounted his experiences from three visits to the ancient Silk Road, spanning over 80,000 miles and crossing more than 30 countries in his senior years. Professor Liu Yuelian, Vice President of Xi’an Peihua University, presided over the lecture. In the second stage, the unveiling ceremony took place, hosted by Zhao Dong’an, a news anchor for Shaanxi Radio and Television’s “News Broadcast” program and Vice President of the Shaanxi Provincial Traditional Culture Development Promotion Association.

In his academic lecture, Professor Xiao Yunru highlighted the fundamental role of the Silk Road in shaping Chinese civilization, emphasizing its significance in both global and Chinese historical contexts. He elucidated the development principles of “going out for development” and “joining hands for mutual development.” The entire audience of faculty and students attentively listened, gaining a profound understanding of Professor Xiao Yunru’s contemporary connection with the ancient Silk Road, which has played an essential role in deepening Xi’an Peihua University students’ comprehension and appreciation of the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Xi’an City God Temple Drum Ensemble Presents Traditional Cultural Performance: “Step by Step Delight”

Before the official commencement of the second stage of the unveiling ceremony, the Xi’an City God Temple Drum Ensemble, adorned in traditional attire, treated the attending faculty and students to a classic performance of “Step by Step Delight.” With their exceptional musical skills, they immersed the audience in the elegant and majestic rhythms of traditional drum music, bestowing a sense of spiritual enrichment and elevation. Their performance was met with rounds of applause from the crowd.

Chairman Jiang Bo’s Address

At the unveiling ceremony, Chairman Jiang Bo delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing the university’s role as a beacon of hope for guiding the nation’s future development and a vital hub for cultural heritage and innovation. He expressed the university’s commitment to deeply integrating traditional culture into campus life and creating a larger and better platform for students and faculty to inherit and promote traditional culture. Chairman Jiang encouraged the students to be active “participants” , “builders” and “driving forces”, stressing the importance of both preserving and innovating to infuse new vitality into outstanding traditional culture. He called on them to undertake the significant mission of national rejuvenation by continuing the development of excellent traditional culture.
