From October 13th to 16th, Xi’an Design Week, a major regional and comprehensive exhibition project sponsored by Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, was held at Xian International Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme of “Design for the Future”, this design week focused on the design industry, design innovation and design consumption, and continuously demonstrated the multiple values of industry, technology, economy, trade and humanities. Curated with “modular” units and “thematic”, industry leaders, institutional curators and independent curators were invited to participate extensively, bringing together domestic and foreign design forces to build an open cooperation platform to use design ideas, technology, talents and achievements, design services and innovative applications, advocating the sustainable development of urban economy and society.
In the four theme exhibition halls, the works of the School of Architecture and Art Design of Xi’an Peihua University were displayed in the A10 exhibition area of Hall 5. The exhibits were mainly designed works of majors in clothing and apparel design and arts and crafts, reflecting the collision of new fashion and tradition.
Xu Ying, executive deputy dean of School of Architecture and Art Design; Wang Fei, secretary of the Party Committee and deputy administrative dean; Nan Binhong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and teachers from various majors attended the opening ceremony of this design week and enthusiastically welcomed the guests and explained the students’ design works for them. This event attracted the participation of a number of well-known companies and institutions. They not only brought the latest design concepts and products, but also provided students with a series of practical opportunities to help them better understand and master design skills.
Xi’an Art and Design Week of this year presented a wonderful art and design feast to the audience. Through this event, it not only promoted the integration of art design and urban development, but also provided a platform for designers and artists to showcase their talents and exchange experiences.
