On November 30th, the 15th “To Be Spoken for!” large-scale job hunting theme event of Xi’an Peihua College came to an end in the lecture hall of Weizhi Library. Since September, after three rounds of university-level selections and school-level rematches, a total of 8 outstanding contestants have stood out from 7,593 contestants and stood on the stage of “To Be Spoken for!” school-level finals.
Leaders attending the competition were Bai Yang, deputy director of the Student Affairs of the Education Department of Shaanxi Province along with a teacher Mr. Du Bin; Zhang Bo, director of the Career Guidance Service Center of Xidian University; Li Yingfang, president of Xi’an Peihua University; Yao Wenjing, vice president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the university, as well as the leaders of schools and departments. The corporate guests and judges of the competition included Zhang Lei, human resources manager of Ape Tutoring Xi’an Branch; Xu Xiaoni, deputy director of the Nursing Department of the First People’s Hospital of Xianyang City; Li Hanyu, director of Shaanxi Huag Law Firm; Bai Guangze, senior manager of the Human Resources Department of the Northwest Region of Jingdong Logistics Group and general manager of School-Enterprise Cooperation; Hou Haixu, rotating CEO of Xi’an Jimujia Information Science and Technology Co.; Song Yonglin, deputy general manager of the Shannxi integration base of education and industry of SANGFOR; Dong Debei, head of Northwest Campus Channel of Campus and International Business Division of Zhilian Recruitment, and Yu Fang, learning development manager of Human Resources Department of the COFCO Coca-Cola Beverages (Shaanxi). There were also 12 enterprise representatives from 11 different industries and 28 student representatives from different majors of schools of the university to participate in the school-level finals with the on-site public judging panel.
Yao Wenjing, vice president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Xi’an Peihua University, delivered a speech, in which she fully affirmed the significance and effect of the competition, saying that the holding of the competition is the embodiment of the university’s comprehensive and precise employment guidance service, and that students should take the competition as an opportunity to exercise and make use of the platform provided by the university to take the key step in their lives, and encouraged the contestants to respond to challenges calmly and perform well, and show the style of “Peihua people”. At the same time, she said that she expected students would listen carefully to the questions and comments from the enterprise judges, understand the real needs of the enterprises, actively participate in the employment guidance activities organized by the school, make good career planning, and lay a solid foundation for the future job searching and career selection!
The eight contestants in the finals presented themselves through self-introduction, theme statement, comprehensive interview, etc. The judges asked questions and commented on the spot, and the public jury voted for them. The eight contestants were highly recognized by all the judges for their excellent performance, solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience, and the contestants also successfully got the internship offers issued by their preferred enterprises on the spot. The atmosphere at the competition was lively, with shouts of cheering, and the community who cared about this activity watched the activity through the live webcast and cheered for the contestants.

This competition awarded the “Advanced Collective Award for Employment Work in 2022” and “Advanced Individual Award for Employment Work in 2022” to secondary colleges and individuals with outstanding performance in employment work in 2022, as well as the “Excellent Organization Award”, “Excellent Instructor Award” and “Excellent Worker Award”.

In the end, Li Zecheng from the School of Medicine won the first prize of the competition, Zhu Henglin from the School of Intelligent Science and Information Engineering and Shu Rui from the School of Humanities and International Education won the second prize, and Huang Kai from the School of Accounting and Finance, Zuo Haoyu and Li Jia from the School of Humanities and International Education, Xu Wenjun from the School of Architecture and Art and Design, and Li Qiaoman from the School of Medicine won the third prize. Li Lulu and other 11 contestants won the excellent prize.

The award-winning students and all the contestants who participated in this competition not only received help from teachers on campus, but also professional guidance from enterprise elites and hiring managers from all walks of life during the 2-month event at the school and university levels. Building a platform for off-campus employment mentors is an important part of our university’s system of building a full and precise employment guidance service. As a bridge between enterprises and students, the off-campus enterprise mentors strengthened the deepening of the exploration of university-enterprise cooperation, while providing valuable advice from the the enterprises’ perspective for students on job-seeking ability and precise career positioning. The competition awarded certificates of appointment to 20 outstanding enterprise representatives, who were appointed as our university’s employment mentors to provide professional guidance for graduates.

The 15th “To Be Spoken for!” Xi’an Peihua University Job Hunting Competition is fully connected with the First College Students’ Career Planning Competition of Shaanxi Province, which can better realize the concepts of “promoting learning through competition” and “promoting practice through competition”.
