Recently, the list of winners for the 2023 Shaanxi College Student Industrial Design Competition, hosted by the Shaanxi Department of Education, was announced. Peihua University won 3 first prizes, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, 2 excellent awards, and 5 excellent tutor awards. As the only private university to win the first prize in this competition, Peihua’s total score has reached a historic high.

In order to actively prepare for the competition, the university’s Academic Affairs Management Center, Design Innovation Center, and School of Media and Design quickly responded, formulated a scientifically feasible preparation plan, and invited industrial design experts from both inside and outside the university to form a mentor team. Through lectures, themed seminars, skill training camps etc.,s, centralized training and targeted tutoring were conducted throughout the school to provide comprehensive support for students participating in the competition.

In recent years, Peihua teachers and students have performed excellently in this competition, winning one second prize and one third prize in 2021, and one first prize and one second prize in 2022. It has consistently ranked among the top private universities in the Shaanxi province, demonstrating excellent professional design standards.

The results achieved in this competition are not only the result of the university’s high attention and joint efforts of teachers and students, but also the result of our university’s continuous exploration of art and industry integration education methods and practice of innovation mechanisms for industry-academia collaboration. It has played a good role in promoting the construction of design majors and the cultivation of application-oriented talents in the university, and has explored new paths for cultivating composite innovative design talents with both design thinking and practical abilities.
