On the afternoon of October 23rd, the Shaanxi Women’s Federation and Xi’an Peihua University jointly held the unveiling ceremony of the Shaanxi Marriage and Family Service and Research Base and“New Era Family Values Lectures Entering Universities and Colleges”activities. More than 400 people participated in the event, including DangJie,first-level inspector of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation;Chu Haifei,directorof the Family and Children’s Work Department of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation;Liu Qingfeng, third-level researcher of the Family and Children’s Work Department of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation;Jiang Bo,chairman of Xi’an Peihua University;Yao Wenjing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, vice president, and chairman of the Women’s Federation;Wang Peng, executive vice president of the Women’sSchool, andassistant dean,Li Meng,as well as representatives of teachers and students. Liu Yuelian,chairman and vice president of the Academic Committee of Xi’an Peihua University, presided over the event.

At the beginning of the event, Jiang Bo,chairman of Xi’an Peihua University, delivered a speech on behalf of theuniversity. In his speech, he reviewed theuniversity’s long history of women’s education development, stating that“the original purpose of establishing theuniversitywas to provide services for women to pursue independence and achieve equality, help them master the skills of making a living, and recruit young women who have dropped out of school, lost their jobs, or escaped from famine”. The Women’s Schoolwas established in 2010. After 14 years of exploration, Peihua’s women education has become agood examplein Shaanxi and even the whole country. The Marriage andFamily Service and Research Base jointly established with Shaanxi Women’s Federation has also become a major step forward in the practice of Peihua women’s education in the new era.Chairman Jiang Bo emphasized that as responsible persons for the construction of socialist modernization in the new era, college students need to establish a correct understanding of family values, enhance their awareness and ability to participate in family culture construction, and contribute to the construction of family culture in the new era.

Dang Jie, first-level inspector of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation, delivered a speech and put forward three thoughts on the construction of the base: firstly, we must attach importance to publicity. Through the New Era Family Values Lectures, we aim to bring positive views on marriage, love, childbirth, and family into schools, and make marriage and childbearing of appropriate age, eugenics, and spousal cooperationinchild rearinga consensus among young people; Secondly, we should attach importance to collaboration.We need to strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant research institutions, universities, governments, social organizations, enterprises and other sectors of society, learn from advanced research methods and service experience, leverage the role and advantages of higher education and training, and achieve good results in major establishment and talent cultivation, gender equality education, women’s development and other aspects; We should attach great importance to research.We have to pay attention to exploring the deep-seated reasons behind marriage and family problems, effectively resolving various conflicts and disputes faced by families, and strengthening the representativeness and applicability of research results.

On site,DangJie, first-level inspector of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation, and Jiang Bo,chairman of Xi’an Peihua University, signed the“Shaanxi Marriage and Family Service and Research Base Cooperation Agreement”in the presence of all attendees, and unveiled the plaque for the base.

Subsequently, Chu Haifei,minister of the Family and Children’s Work Department of the Shaanxi Women’s Federation, provided a detailed introduction to the personnel structure of the Shaanxi Marriage and Family Service and Research Base. She emphasized that the core goal of the base is to integrate advantageous resources and deepen strategic cooperation. By improving mechanisms, optimizing services, strengthening talent development, and deepening scientific research, we aim to establish an efficient and professional system for marriage and family services and research training. In the future, the base will conduct in-depth research in ten areas, including marriage and family policies and new requirements, protection of women’s rights and interests in marriedfamilies, knowledge of marriage and family ethics, social workofmarried families, education in married families, and research on marriage and family services and development.

Liu Yuelian,chairman andvicepresident of the Academic Committee of Xi’an PeihuaUniversity, and Yao Wenjing,deputysecretary of the Party Committee,vicepresident, andchairman of the Women’s Federation, presented appointment letters to two consultants and ten experts hired by the base.

Dong Ying,director of the Family and Social Affairs Department of China Women’s Daily, took the stage to speak as an advisory representative. She stated that for a long time, she has been paying attention to and conducting research on the changes in the young people’s views on marriage, love, childbirth, and family with the development of the times. The establishment of this base will provide a solid platform for deepening marriage and family services and research, and play an important role in guiding young people to establish correct views on marriage, love, childbirth, and family. In addition, she mentioned that she hopes that students can learn how to love and be loved in the relevant courses and activities carried out at the base anduniversity, laying a solid foundation for building healthy and harmonious family relationships in the future.

Huang Jing from the School of Accounting and Finance at Xi’an Peihua University, on behalf of students, shared her growth and exploration stories during her three years in university. Thanks to the relevant activities and courses offered by the university, she has gainedoutstanding achievements inuniversityand social practices. In the face of love and marriage, she mentioned that one should approach the challenges and opportunities with a calm heart,treatone’s own emotions and those ofothers with a sincere heart, and pursue personal growth and happiness with an enterprising spirit.

The event also invited Tang Zhongxin, sociology professor from Nankai University, to give a report titled“New Era Family Values from a Sociological Perspective”fortheteachers and students. He emphasized the important content of the new era family value of“building and enjoying families together to pursue a happy life”. He pointed out that the market, social and civil services, and government public services are the three foundations for providing a happy life, and the family, as the core of people’s lives, plays an important supportive role at different stages of life. For thecollege students, they are currently in a critical period of maturity in their outlook on life, values, and marriage. They should make life choices with a rational, objective, and positive attitude, and take practical actions to oppose negative phenomena that deviate from the new era of family values. By jointly building and enjoying civilized families, they can achieve a happy life.

In the future, the university will continue to deepen cooperation and joint participation with Shaanxi Women’s Federation, and build the base into a demonstration platform for marriage and family services in the western region and even nationwide, an innovative highland for theoretical research, and an important window for the dissemination of family values in the new era.We need to give full play to the exemplary and leading role, and make positive contributions to promoting the high-quality development of marriage and family work in our province and building a harmonious society!
