On March 12, the International Exchange Center of Xi’an Peihua University successfully held the first session of its Internationalization Salon Series. Themed "Opportunities and Challenges in the Internationalization of Xi’an Peihua University," the event featured a keynote speech by Professor Li Hua, President of International Affairs, and was hosted by Hou Xuechen, Internationalization Manager of the International Exchange Center. Thirty faculty members with overseas study experience from various academic departments gathered to explore the future direction of the university’s internationalization efforts.

At the beginning of the event, Professor Li Hua introduced his academic and professional journey with the theme "Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going?" He elaborated on his proposed "Theory of Chinese Harmonious Innovation," emphasizing that this theory could infuse new vitality into Xi’an Peihua University's internationalization efforts. In the context of globalization, he stated that the university should leverage this unique innovation pathway to achieve sustainable development and establish an international education model with Chinese characteristics.

Quoting the famous lines from Li Si’s "Petition Against the Expulsion of Guests" in the Qin Dynasty—"Mount Tai does not reject the soil, hence it becomes great; rivers and seas do not discriminate against small streams, hence they attain depth,"—Professor Li provided an insightful explanation of the necessity and practical approach for Xi’an Peihua University, as China's first private university approaching its centennial, to pursue internationalization. He highlighted the university’s long history, unique culture, and distinctive characteristics, urging faculty members to develop a deep understanding of the university's background while enhancing their ability to integrate into the global academic landscape.

Moreover, Professor Li emphasized the importance of strategic analysis, encouraging faculty to conduct both internal and external environmental assessments to clarify the university’s strategic positioning. Based on this, they should formulate practical plans and action strategies tailored to the university’s specific needs. Professor Li also underscored the significance of "Preserving Integrity While Pursuing Innovation." He urged faculty members to uphold the university’s strong traditions while embracing modern advancements and fostering inclusivity. By innovating within this framework, the university can develop a distinctive educational model. He also encouraged an open-minded approach, calling on faculty to actively engage in global academic collaborations and contribute to the university’s internationalization process.

During the interactive session, faculty members enthusiastically shared their insights and reflections on internationalization, drawing from their personal overseas study experiences. The discussions were lively, with a dynamic exchange of ideas providing fresh perspectives on the university’s internationalization strategies.

This event served as a valuable platform for international exchange among faculty members at Xi’an Peihua University. It not only broadened their global perspectives but also sparked deeper discussions on the university’s future development. Looking ahead, the International Exchange Center will continue to host a series of salon events, further advancing the university’s internationalization efforts and positioning it on a higher level in global education.
