Recently, Dr. Wang Canghong, a faculty member of the university, as the first author and with the School of Accounting and Finance of Xi’an Peihua University listed as the primary affiliation, published a research paper titled “Mitigation of Carbon Footprint in Hybrid Vehicle-Dominated Distribution Systems via P2G Technology and Virtual Assets” in the SCI-indexed journal Energy. The journal is ranked in the JCR Q1 zone and is classified as a Top-tier journal in the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) partition, with a impact factor of 9.0 in 2024.

The study explores how Plug-in Hybrid Liquefied Natural Gas Electric Vehicles (PLHGEVs) can balance environmental sustainability with economic efficiency through an innovative framework integrating Power-to-Gas (P2G) technology and virtual multi-energy hubs to optimize hybrid vehicle operations in urban transportation and distribution systems. By employing technical integration and multi-energy optimization approaches, the research enhances interaction efficiency between electrical grids, natural gas networks, renewable energy sources and PLHGEV fleets, thereby improving overall system flexibility and environmental sustainability. The findings demonstrate that coupling PLHGEVs with multi-energy hubs offers significant potential for supporting both ecological sustainability and economic growth. The research contributes novel insights by developing a comprehensive solution that combines P2G technology with virtual assets to create an effective carbon footprint reduction strategy for hybrid vehicle-dominated distribution systems, while establishing important theoretical foundations for the electrification transition of future urban transportation networks.
