Amid the profound transformations in education driven by the AI era and at a pivotal juncture in the development of private universities, the Future University Alliance was initiated in 2017 by Xi’an Peihua University, Chengdu University of Finance and Economics Tianfu College, and five other universities along with Mercer Data Co., Ltd. Since then, it has grown into an innovative higher education consortium of 13 member institutions. The Alliance has consistently upheld the banner of “innovation, openness, and sharing”, aiming not only to facilitate inter-university resource exchange and credit recognition, but also to lead a forward-looking transformation of the educational ecosystem. By building a comprehensive collaborative framework—from shared teaching resources and joint research platforms to student exchanges and joint applications for master’s programs—the Alliance has enabled its members to shift from “individual advancement” to “coordinated group progress”. Its practice directly addresses the modern demand for high-quality, application-oriented talent, aiming to answer the pressing challenges of high-quality, sustainable, and distinctive development in private higher education. This initiative opens new paths and sets new benchmarks for the transformation and elevation of China’s private universities, marking a new stage where private institutions move forward collectively toward collaborative innovation and co-creating the future.
