On September 13, Xi’an Peihua University held its Opening Ceremony and Military Training Summary Meeting for the Class of 2025 on the university’s athletic field. The event was attended by Chairman of the Board Jiang Bo, President Li Yingfang, and Party Secretary Liu Feng, along with other members of the university’s leadership team. Deans of various schools, heads of administrative offices, faculty representatives, alumni, and parents all gathered to witness this inspiring moment where youthful passion met with steadfast ideals. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary Yao Wenjing.

All faculty members and students faced the national flag, standing in solemn attention as they proudly sang the National Anthem and the University Anthem

The Class of 2025 showcased the remarkable results of their military training, presenting a vibrant tribute to youth and perseverance. The performance became the highlight of the ceremony. The Red Song Recitation Team delivered powerful renditions that echoed through a century of history, reciting stirring lines such as “Without the Communist Party, there would be no New China”, “Unity is strength”, and “When the youth thrive, so does China”. Every word conveyed Peihua students’ heartfelt devotion to their country. The Combat Boxing Formation performed with speed and strength, each precise movement reflecting the spirit and discipline of soldiers. The Dance Team, moving gracefully to the rhythm of Beautiful China, portrayed the grandeur of the nation’s mountains and rivers—56 ethnic groups swaying in harmony, radiating youthful vitality. On the green field, the Marching Formation formed the words “Centennial Peihua” symbolizing the university’s resilient journey through seven relocations and nine name changes. The Police Baton Formation demonstrated skillful coordination and tactical prowess, wielding batons with precision and strength. Meanwhile, the Tactical Formation simulated real combat scenes—advancing with rifles, firing from cover, and executing fluid maneuvers—engraving the conviction of “being ready to win battles” into the very fabric of their youth.

University leaders presented school badges to the freshman representatives, symbolizing their official entry into the Xi’an Peihua University community and the beginning of their new academic journey

President Li Yingfang announced the Commendation for Outstanding Groups and Individuals in Military and National Defense Education for the Class of 2025 and the Commendation for Outstanding Instructors of the Class of 2025 Military Training Corps. Representatives of the award-winning companies, individuals, dormitories, and instructors stepped onto the stage to receive their honors. Party Secretary Liu Feng presented a banner of appreciation to the military training instructors, expressing sincere gratitude to all who had contributed to the program. He commended their sense of mission in “dedicating their youth to national defense” and their selfless commitment to educating the future pillars of the nation through both words and deeds.

Freshman representative Zhao Jiahui from the School of Medicine’s Oral Medicine Technology Program shared his heartfelt impressions of joining the Peihua community. He said he had drawn inspiration from the university’s century-old legacy of “putting people first and valuing virtue above all”. Through the military training, he also paid tribute to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, pledging to inherit the red gene and shoulder the mission of his generation. He set a goal to stay committed to physical training and keep pushing his limits. He called on all freshmen to let perseverance guide their journey, to integrate their youth into Xi’an Peihua University’s century-long legacy, and write their own chapters of growth.

Alumni representative Hu Zongxiang, a member of the Reserve Parade Unit of the September 3rd Military Parade and a graduate from the School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, shared his experience participating in the parade. He spoke on the historical significance and enduring relevance of the great spirit of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Addressing the freshmen, he offered three messages of encouragement. First, “Keep the love for the nation in your heart” — carry forward the great spirit of resistance and draw strength from the martyrs who fought for the country; Second, “Never choose to ‘lie flat’ in the face of challenges” — remember the indomitable courage of those who fought to the very end, and cultivate the will to overcome difficulties; Third, “Hone your real skills while in school” — cherish your youth, strengthen your professional abilities, and use practical action to honor the heroes of the past, contributing to China’s modernization and national rejuvenation with courage and responsibility.

Hu then presented his commemorative medal from the “September 3rd Parade” to his alma mater, expressing the hope that it would inspire more Peihua students to carry on the red legacy, dedicate themselves to national rejuvenation, and pursue excellence in service to the nation.

Dr. Jiang Bo, Chairman of Xi’an Peihua University, delivered a deeply moving address reflecting on the university’s 97-year history. He recounted how generations of Peihua educators, represented by former president Jiang Weizhi, forged ahead with perseverance and resilience through countless hardships. He emphasized that Peihua, standing strong through nearly a century of trials and transformation, has achieved a remarkable shift from “quantitative growth” to “qualitative excellence”, writing a brilliant chapter in the history of private higher education in China. Dr. Jiang encouraged the freshmen to embrace the wisdom of “benefiting others is benefiting oneself”, to cultivate broad-mindedness and a vision for great endeavors, and to strengthen their theoretical foundations while expanding their perspectives through practice. He urged them to embrace new technologies and strive to become “well-rounded talents who not only excel in professional competence but also possess interdisciplinary thinking”, transforming an uncertain future into a purposeful and fulfilling life. In a heartwarming close, Dr. Jiang shared his personal phone number, assuring students that they could “always reach out to Brother Bo”. He expressed his wish for this bond between teachers and students to become their firmest source of support, and encouraged them to see Peihua as a “springboard”—to turn knowledge into the rudder of their destiny and sail toward a higher, farther, and brighter future.

As the massive national flag was slowly carried across the field, more than ten thousand faculty and students joined in singing “Ode to the Motherland” in unison. Passed hand by hand by the freshmen, the towering red flag rippled like a sea, while the powerful melody echoed over the campus buildings and the green field. In this stirring moment, the weight of history, the vigor of youth, and the warmth of home came together, expressing the deep affection and heartfelt blessings of all Peihua members for their motherland.

After fourteen days of intensive military training, the Class of 2025 delivered their “youthful report” with neat marching, resounding slogans, and high spirits. They have forged the character of “fearless of hardship and fatigue,” honed the ability to “unite and collaborate”, and cultivated a strong sense of “discipline and responsibility”, vividly showcasing the vigor and determination of youth in the new era. This performance was not only a concentrated display of their training achievements but also a living demonstration of Peihua students’ commitment to “writing their youth into the story of the nation.” From red song recitations to tactical drills, from traditional dances to modern formations, every scene embodied Peihua’s educational mission of “fostering virtue through learning”, and every moment shone with the youthful spirit of “I am part of a strong nation”. Guided by the university’s history and propelled by their efforts, the freshmen of 2025 will write their own chapters of youth on the Peihua campus, inherit the red legacy, shoulder the responsibilities of their generation, and craft a youth without regrets on the journey of “strengthening the nation with my efforts”.
