Recently, hosted by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hainan Province, China Industrial Design Association, co-hosted by Shenzhen Industrial Design Association, supported by the World Design Industry Organization and Beijing Guanghua Design Development Fund, the award ceremony of the “2022 First Hainan International Designer Competition” was held in Haikou, where famous designers from home and abroad gathered to help the construction of Hainan International Design Island.

In the final of the 2022 Hainan International Designers Competition, Wang Zijian, Director of the Design Innovation Centre of Xi’an Peihua University and full-time teacher at the School of Architecture and Art Design, won the Bronze Award for his design “Cat in Hainan”, a series of Hainan cultural and creative pet furniture.

This year’s competition was promoted and entered by more than 180 design organizations from home and abroad. 926 entries were collected from 340 designers from 9 countries, including the USA, Italy, Germany, Korea and the Netherlands, covering the design fields of transportation, medical devices, smart home, lifestyle products, artificial intelligence, system solutions, cultural and creative products, and fashion creativity.

The award reflects the praise and recognition of Peihua University’s design teachers’ practical ability by the design and industrial sectors at home and abroad. It is a typical example of Xi’an Peihua University building a “dual-teacher” teaching team, a powerful demonstration of the good development of the university’s design majors, and an effective enhancement of the university’s popularity, reputation and influence in the design field.
