On the morning of September 16th, Xi’an Peihua University held the 2023 Freshman Welcome Ceremony and Military Training Summing-up Meeting at the Chang’an Campus Sports Stadium. Dr. Jiang Bo, chairman of Xi’an Peihua University; professor Li Yingfang, president of the university; professor Liu Yuelian, vice president, chairman of the Academic Committee and dean of the School of Humanities and International Education; professor Yao Wenjing, vice president and vice secretary of the Communist Party Committee; professor Yu Guoliang, vice president and dean of the Medical School; professor Xu Guofu, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission; Xue Qing, chief financial officer; assistant presidents, professor Zhang Yunliang, Jiang Tao and associate professor Qin Haifeng attended the meeting. Leaders of secondary schools and functional departments, representatives of teachers, students’ parents, and all 2023 freshmen were present at meeting as well.

The meeting kicked off with the clanging footsteps of the members of the national flag escort team. In the “parade steps”, the shining national emblem on the military uniform and the bright red national flag on the shoulders ignite the patriotic enthusiasm of every Peihua people.
The national anthem was played, with the five-star red flag slowly rising; the school anthem was melodious,
“Hello, classmates!” “Hello, chairman!” “ You have worked hard!” “To win glory for the university!” The sound of Peihua people resounded throughout the campus, bursting with youthful vitality.
The loud and clear slogans demonstrated the will of the Peihua people, as they strode towards the podium with high spirits and steady steps. With sweat and perseverance, they demonstrated the resilient beliefs of Peihua students and passed on the passionate mission of the Chinese people.
The wrestling, tactical performance, and fighting skills, made the sports ground a battlefield in an instant. Students showcased their heroic nature in one move like fierce tigers descending mountains and dragons exploring the sea.
The educational philosophy of “putting people and morality first” was presented, showcasing the spirit of Peihua people. From 1928 to 2023, the fire of educating people has been sustained and passed down from generation to generation for 95 years.
Various teams showed their youthful vitality shedding sweat in the sunlight. Their extraordinary performances marked a significant conclusion to their military training life, displaying the spirit of Peihua people!

Liu Ruiqi said that after twelve years of diligence in study, students from all over the country gathered here with a new identity to-Peihua people. “In Peihua, we finally found the answer to our inner questions - What kind of person should we be?” “Be an outstanding person!” He called on other students to take every down-to-earth step, cherish their youth, and work hard. As a young generation, the freshmen must strive to become excellent Peihua people with vigour, ambition, comprehensive development, and action guided by what they believe!
Chairman Jiang Bo, reviewed the glorious history of Peihua of 95 years and recounted the difficult but passionate years of the first generation of Peihua people. With the altruistic spirit of Jiang Weizhi, the old president who worked hard and selflessly, he encouraged every Peihua student to constantly strive at a new stage of their life and always maintain a high and upward attitude.
He also gave some suggestions to the new students. First of all, they must set great aspirations, have great virtues, strive towards their goals, and be young people with ideals, abilities, and responsibilities in the new era of Peihua. Secondly, they must strive courageously, be down-to-earth, and remember that the youth is for striving, and that only through striving can the limited youth burst into infinite light and heat. Finally, they need to broaden their horizons, experience as much as possible, and enjoy the richness of campus life and the brilliance of life during their university years!
In order to further strengthen the linkage between family and university, promote family-university co-education, and allow more parents of students to have a face-to-face experience of their children’s growth and transformation after entering the university, the university had sent an invitation to all parents of new students, and more than 300 parents of students came to the meeting of the 2023 Freshman Welcome Ceremony and Military Training Summing-up Meeting.
An 81-year-old veteran came to the meeting to watch his grandson’s military training. Veteran Du said that he has been educating his grandson according to military standards, and they didn’t accompanied him to school for his registration. This time, he took advantage of the opportunity and came to watch the military training performance.
Remember the great ambition when one was young and be determined to become a outstanding person. The dripping sweat will turn into surging waves in your chest, and the dazzling sunlight will lead you on your way forward. After undertaking the military training, you will not be afraid of storms in the future.
