On November 18th, the preliminary round of the Northwest Division of the 17thNational Japanese Speech Competition was heldinXi’an International Studies University. Dong Leqian, a2020 Japanese majorof Peihua University, won the first prize. A total of 26 participants from 24 universities in the northwest region participated in this competition, with 18 third prizes, 5 second prizes, 1 first prize, and 2 special prizes.
Thecompetitionis co-sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange, NikkeiNews and the Japanese Chinese Professors Association. It has eight competitiondivisions across the country,and is one of the most influentialJapanesecompetitions.
