A Delegation from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Friendship Association Arrived in Xi’an Peihua University for an Exchange Visit

On the morning of November 21st, Mr. Ian MacDonald,dean of the International College of the University of Canterbury in New Zealand;Zhao Fang,overseasdirector of the Shaanxi Friendship Association andpresident of the New Zealand Shaanxi General Chamber of Commerce;Wei Ting,secretary-general of the New Zealand Shaanxi General Chamber of Commerce, andvicechairman of the New Zealand Shaanxi General Chamber of Commerce Representatives such as Li Zhenyu,president of the Shaanxi Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Li Guanghui,minister of the American Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Friendship Association,arrived inXi’anPeihuaUniversityfor an exchange visit. Liu Yuelian,vicepresident of our school;Wang Peng,director of the International Exchange Center;Qin Quanan,vicechairman andsecretary-general of the Shaanxi Industrial Cooperation Association anddirector of the Northwest Gonghe Research Institute of Xi’an PeihuaUniversity,deputysecretary-general of the Shaanxi Industrial Cooperation Association anddirector of the Party Committee Propaganda Department,Liu Yu,attended the symposium and accompanied the tour.

On behalf ofPeihua University,vicepresident Liu Yuelian welcomed the arrival of Mr. Ian MacDonald,dean of the International College of the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and representatives of the Shaanxi People’s Friendship Association. Shegave a brief onthe history ofXi’anPeihuaUniversity, the school’s profile,theinternational education and other basic information.Shealso said that the school has always been committed to carrying forward the tradition of promoting the tradition of industrial cooperation.Canterbury, New Zealand, is the hometown of Rewi Alley, an international friend and one of the main founders of theindustrialcooperatives in China.Shelooks forward tomorein-depth cooperation between the two sides in internationalization and industrial cooperation.

Ian MacDonald,dean of the International College of the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, delivered a speech. He expressed his gratitude to the school for its warm reception and sincerely congratulatedXi’anPeihuaUniversityforits 95thanniversary. Dean Ian MacDonald said that 2023 marks the 126thanniversary of the birth of Rewi Alley and the 150thanniversary of the founding of the University of Canterbury. The two universities have a specialconnectionin terms of industrial cooperation andhistory. He said that the University of Canterbury attaches great importance to engineering, computer science, and economics, and is committed to promoting the development of industrial cooperation. He hopes that there can be more in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the two schools.

Zhao Fang, overseas director of the Shaanxi Friendship Association and president of the New Zealand Shaanxi General Chamber of Commerce,alsogave a speech. She reviewed her past studies and work in New Zealand and introduced the work of the Friendship Association and the Shaanxi Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand in fully tapping and utilizing domestic and foreign resources, and bridging the gap for various industries such as education and economy in Shaanxi.
