From August 15 to 18, 2024, the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Countries Seminar on Curriculum Development, Standard Setting, and the Construction of International Training Bases, along with the inaugural meeting of the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Countries International Alliance for Skills Development’s Medical and Health care Professional Committee, was held in Xiamen. Associate Professor Wang Juning, Vice Dean of Teaching at Xi’an Peihua University’s School of Medicine, was invited to attend the event.

The conference reviewed and approved Xi’an Peihua University's application to join the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Countries International Alliance for Skills Development. The university was successfully elected as a member of the Alliance.

To advance the organization and preparation of the competition, the organizing committee simultaneously held the pre-competition briefing and judges’training session for the 2024 8th Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Countries Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition in the medical and health care categories. The conference introduced international curriculum development, standardization, and competition standard setting, and explained how the competition is guided by vocational standardization development and evaluation, referencing the judging model of the World Skills Competition. In separate sessions, the briefing and judges’training for each medical and health care event in the BRICS competition were conducted.

Associate professor Wang Juning,vice dean of Teaching at the School of Medicine, participated in the judges’training and received a completion certificate. Additionally,professor Wang Qiaofeng,vice dean of Research, along with 10 department leaders and key faculty members, joined various subcommittees within the university, including Emergency Education, AI Digital Medicine, and Virtual Simulation, serving as directors and committee members.

Xi’an Peihua University will continue to enhance the development of medical and healthcare-related programs, promote curriculum development, organize skills competitions, innovate in the research of technical skills, and strengthen international exchange and cooperation. The university will keep innovating in the ongoing development of medical education.
