On October 23rd, the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 2024 Freshmen Welcome Gala was held at the Five Pine Trees Gymnasium of Xi’an Peihua University. As the dazzling lights suddenly lit up, “New World”, the opening dance, kicked off the evening with a thundering impact, instantly sparking the atmosphere. Each turn and leap was precise and powerful, narrating the stories of courage and dreams.

Classical Dance “Hua Xiang Rong”

Performers: Zhai Liaoliao, Jia Xue, Du Yanan, etc

Graceful veil sshow cased the classical charm. They used dance as their brush and bodies as ink, painting exquisite scenes of classical beauty. The audience felt as if they were in the misty south of the Yangtze River, experiencing the elegance and tenderness that transcends the mundane world.

Duet “Liang Liang”

Performers: the School of Marxism Faculty Members Zhang Mengshen and Huang Jiaxin

The moonlight was as gentle as water, and the teachers’ voices echoed like a cool breeze stirring ripples on a calm lake. Their duet, resonant and moving, brought the audience into the cool night, savoring the delicacy and profundity of emotions, making every note a gentle touch in their hearts.

Latin Dance “If the Sky HadSensations”

Performers: Zhang Xiaoyu, Wu Yiyu, Dong Sitong, and others.

The lively notes played out the vigor of youth, and the dynamic dance steps displayed the splendor of youth. The Latin dancers’ fiery movements ignited every inch of the air, immersing the audience in a world of passion and romance.

Music-Accompanied Poetry Recitation “Resonating with the Times, Marching with the Motherland”

The reciters, with their powerful voices, infused patriotic sentiments into every word. Each line of poetry was a profound ode to the era, and each recitation was a deep call to the nation, stirring the hearts of every listener.

Youth Girl Group Performance “Against the Light”

Performers: Huang Jingxia, Zhang Ziying, Zhang Yutong, Lv Yihan, Chen Jiayu

Five young women, like the rising sun, pierced through the darkness with their clear voices, singing of courage and hope in the shadow of the light, illuminating the path forward.

Ancient-Style Dance “Stepping into the Jiangnan Painting”

Performers: Lu Lu, Du Yanan, Liu Yan, andetc(Schoolof Humanities and International Education)

The misty south of the Yangtze River, with its ink wash and vermilion. The dancers used their bodies as brushes to paint picturesque scenes of the southern water towns, making the audience feel as if they were in a poetic world, shrouded in mist and drizzle.

MsQi sang with a warm voice, expressing deep affection and love for the country. Each note was filled with a yearning for and pursuit of a happy life.

Street Dance “Girl’s Power” Performers: Han Jiatong, Wan Jiaxin, Li Ruoying, andect

The girls’ dance was a declaration of strength and a blossoming of confidence. Their movements, strong yet graceful, showcased their unique charm and style.

“Journey·Undeterred by the Wind and Rain”

Performers: Hong Siyu, Xiao Jian, Yi Le Xiao, Chen Lingjie

With passionate voices and soaring dreams, the four members of the vocal ensemble sang of perseverance and courage on the road to chasing their dreams, inspiring us to believe that no matter the storms, dreams will eventually come true.

Melodies flowed like a gentle stream, caressing the heart. The two teachers, with their remarkable skills, performed a symphony of the soul, immersing the audience in a sea of music.

Song Medley “Our Songs”

A blend of classic and modern, where songs and memories resonate. The members of the vocal ensemble, with their heartfelt renditions, awakened the youthful memories in our hearts. Each song was a whisper of time.

Contemporary Dance “Umbrella Under Youth”

Youth is an umbrella, sheltering us from the wind and rain. The dancers used their bodies as brushes to sketch the most captivating moments of youth, evoking a sense of longing.

Duet “The World Won’t Easily Collapse”

Performers: Chen Lingjie, Lin Chuanyu, Xiao Jian, Zhang Ziying

“On the journey of youth, we will encounter both sunny and stormy days”. The four members of the vocal ensemble, with their heartfelt duet, reminded us that even in the face of storms, we must believe in the beauty of the world.

Rope Skipping Variations “Dancing Leap”

Performers: Li Daozhang, Gao Shangqi, Xu Mingwen, Liao Ying, and others (School of Physical Education)

Rope shadows flutter, dancing with youth. Students from the College of Physical Education used jump ropes to create vivid images of youth, each leap filled with power and beauty, showcasing the spirit and vitality of athletes.

Male and Female Duet “I Love You, China”

With deep and sincere voices, the two teachers expressed their love and pride for the country, bringing a sense of the weight and warmth of patriotism to the audience through their songs.

This cultural and artistic gala was not only a visual and auditory feast but also a heartfelt declaration of love to our motherland. It showcased the proactive and enterprising spirit of the Peihua faculty and students, as well as their outstanding artistic talent, and offered a significant gift to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. As the lights dimmed and the music lingered, the applause continued to echo in the gymnasium. Time passed, but the beautiful memories remained. Youth is an eternal ode that never fades, and we, in the prime of our youth, stand at the forefront of the era, dancing with the waves and moving with our country, ready to shoulder the responsibilities and missions given by our times, and to create a better future together.
